Bump.
Well...I don't have a real decision as of yet since I need to play RO fully. Did they speak Pig Latin in Legends?

Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Nope, it goes back to gibberish. Except in the intro where Polokus speaks in "Earth-speak" (i.e. French/English/German/whatever
).
Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Doesn't the same thing happen in Legends too, where he speaks English at the intro then gibberish afterwards? Either way I think the gibberish suits the game personally. I played those games first then found the English speaking in Rayman 3 odd since it was differentPluMGMK wrote:Nope, it goes back to gibberish. I'm used to it now though

My post was referring to Legends.Steo wrote:Doesn't the same thing happen in Legends too, where he speaks English at the intro then gibberish afterwards? I find that term more curious than anything you just said.PluMGMK wrote:"Earth-speak" (i.e. French/English/German/whatever).
Though I see, so they only speak pig-latin in Origins, alright. I do agree that gibberish sounds better.
(I should probably use that instead of English.

Clearly I was sleep deprived last night in that casePluMGMK wrote:My post was referring to Legends.

Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Hmmm, makes me wonder why they used pig latin for Origins then.PluMGMK wrote: Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:53 pm Nope, it goes back to gibberish. Except in the intro where Polokus speaks in "Earth-speak" (i.e. French/English/German/whatever).
Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
I still think I prefer Raymanian in a way, the Pig-Latin choice always will remain a bit strange. I don't hate it or anything, it's just a strange choice.

Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Yeah same, I'd prefer Raymanian in any case. Even Revolution.
Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Yeah I for some reason don't like the voice acting in Rayman 2.

I don't like the English voice acting for R2 PS1 especially. I can stomach PS2, but it's still not better than Raymanian.

Re: Raymanian: gibberish or Pig Latin?
Someone thought it would be funny / whimsical. Obviously afterwards they realized it was just ridiculous. The Jonster wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2020 10:30 amHmmm, makes me wonder why they used pig latin for Origins then.PluMGMK wrote: Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:53 pm Nope, it goes back to gibberish. I never did find it funny though, I think Hunch once said it's only funny if you're 10.

The only time I found dialogue funny was in R3.
