Yeah and there's been rumor about them lately regarding the misconduct from certain people in the company which I psted some time ago.

Serge Hascoët for example, the guy who formalized the difficulty strategy in Rayman 1!

That's interesting. Where can I read about said formalization?

It was in L'Histoire de Rayman. Maybe "formalize" is the wrong word, but he had a four-letter acronym for all the ingredients in the level design. I can dig it out in a while.

I'll order that book soon, and keep learning French so I have some hope of eventually being able to read it.

Well, as luck would have it, I just went to consult my copy, and it fell open on the exact page I needed (well, the page before it, but it included the section header, "La Méthode Hascoët"). He used four letters, "A S R P": Astuce, Synchronisation, Rapidité, Précision. The "A" involves thinking, the "S" involves moving at the right moment (like between moving platforms), the "R" involves constant movement (like when the water rises in the Tarayzan level) and the "P" involves, well, precision. Then each map can be assigned a number for each letter, like "R1S2" is "rapidity level 1, synchronization level 2" and the like.

Nice! Have the ranks assigned to all levels been released anywhere? It would be interesting to observe how the developers rated the difficulty of the maps, compared to how the players see it.

I can only hope Ubisoft will do something for Rayman's birthday in a few days. But there's always that doubt...

Hello, gents! :) I was wondering if any of you had footage of every instance where Rayman was dressed as Sam Fisher Price from Splinter Cell.. Right now, a google search only brings up the Splinter Cell costume he wore in Rayman Legends, but I swear I’ve seen even earlier instances of this. In particular i’m thinking of a 3D animated video where it’s sort of set up like a fake-out, where you think it’s supposed to be Sam cause you only see the 3 glowing lights from his visor in the dark, but it turns out it’s just Rayman wearing his costume. I might be misremembering the details on that one.. it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I believe it was a promo/teaser for either Rayman 3 or 4/Raving Rabbids, it was definitely made in the 2000’s. Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help me out.. :oops2: and I hope you all have a good day! :mryellow:

Hello numptybunch, and welcome on the Rayman Pirate-Community! :)
You can introduce yourself on this topic if you want:

I know that you're talking about! :D I remember this trailer very well because of the line of Rayman: "I'm looking for a job!"
Yep, he said that. And it was in 2005.

Here it is:

The quality isn't very good since it comes from another website.

Thanks so much, dude! :D You know, I’ve searching for this video for so long i’ve almost begun to believe it was just a figment of my imagination :fou2: Even asking on Reddit didn’t help, and it eventually led me down the rabbit hole of joining this forum.. :oops2: I might even stick around here, who knows? though I am a preferred lurker admittedly. :oops2:
Poor Rayman though... I hope he finds work soon! Best of luck to you all and I hope many good Rayman related things come your way :D

I hope that if Rayman 4 ever comes out, Ray would keep his personality and maybe even looks from 3. I don't think his joyful, somewhat crazy personality from Origins and Legends would fit in story based game, it would basically re-skined Crash Bandicoot, atleast IMO. Would be cool if he talked more too, I really like his French and English voices (assuming the voices stay the same but even then new ones would be most welcome).

I agree with you, and anyway I see the UbiArt games as a side series that has little to do with the main one.

This is true but it's been a while since mainline Rayman game (2003), Ubisoft may give a new direction to Rayman's character in future.

True, but I guess it's not necessarily a bad thing as long as they don't draw from the UbiArt titles. There's more to Rayman than slapstick humor.

First time I heard of Rayman I thought of him being an anthropomorphic eggplant.

Useless to say, if he ever returns, Razorbeard will make of Rayman an "eggplantman alla parmigiana". >;)
