German has an error in most versions

In the globox level, at the end

One pirate says "Desaktivieren" instead of "Deaktivieren"
Meaning Deactivating

Idk how but its in a few versions

And the text on the stones in the tomb secret is almost never actualy translated
Its almost always english

That happens in the English version too, aside from dreamcast. It says "door inactivated" instead of "door deactivated".

I'm sure the French version would be correct, but I'm not sure about other translations myself though. I played the game so many times that I decided to try it in French for a change to see what the differences are. I had to set my Dreamcast to French though, and I have a very limited understanding at the moment. :P

Another thing I noticed is how a stone in the Woods of Light says to press L and R or X and Y simultaneously, but pressing X and Y simultaneously isn't correct. L and R makes the camera go into first person though, X and Y just turn the camera left or right.

EDIT: Wait, never mind. Tapping X and Y makes the camera just reset so it's behind Rayman. They really don't explain the camera controls very well. :fou2:

Hello there.

I installed Rayman 2 with GOG a long long time ago and applied a patch to run it widescreen and all, it worked like a charm. I don't remember where I got it from but it worked.

I wanted to do the game again, after downloading and installing Rayman Control Panel and... Well, the game starts and runs normally but the textures are WAY too dark, like pitch black in some areas...

I really don't know what to do, do you guys have an Idea ?

At the risk of sounding obvious, have you checked the Brightness settings in the game?

A bunch of games are 75% off on ubisoft's website. You can get Rayman 2 and 3 for $1.50 each! I just need to see which version of 2 the pc is using...

I still want to try see the Tomb of the Ancients message appear on the actual Dreamcast, but I'm not quite sure how to get by the first gate without pressing the switch. I done it on DS by clipping through the window but that doesn't work on Dreamcast. I think Rib once mentioned something about void, but I'm not sure how that works.

I've wondered about that too. Can you mis-use a Green Lum or anything like that?

Apparently void is pausing the game at the exact frame where Rayman is supposed to respawn once he dies. That means you have to have frame perfect timing (roughly 16.7ms). :?

UPDATE: I managed to do it. I got void to work and got the green Lum, though it still spawned me on the wrong side of the gate, so I got void to work again and ended up on the other side of the gate somehow.

I thought the Dreamcast version would have more votes here. It seems like most people consider that the definitive version. Is it the limited modding capabilities?

I always did prefer the Dreamcast version myself, but I guess the PC version was just more common since most people have a PC or laptop.

Anybody else feel Rayman’s model looks more appealing in the PS1 and N64 versions compared to PC or Dreamcast?

I can understand why PC's high, but dunno why DC is not very high while PS2 is. DC is a great port and is definitely right for "Definitive Version".

Yeah I do like the PS2 version for some reasons, but I definitely wouldn't call it my favourite.

I like the PS2 version, but it's not my favourite. Still not really comparable to other versions, since it feels more like its own version to me.

Let's not forget the PS2 version's infinitely spawning game saving prompt.
