Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
Oh, so that's why I wasn't able to find one, because they were all dead... Well, I sure hope this one won't die, but I don't have high hopes given the situation of those two
Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
I've been doing most of my reading online lately since I'm mainly learning tech related stuff a lot. I would like to read L'Histoire de Rayman, but first I'd need to buy it, then learn French.

Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
Curiously, I was the last poster in the 2018 one. I guess it got buried after all the game threads started taking priority back then.
Anyways, I loved reading books as a kid. These days though I do most of my reading online. Recently I started reading the Artemis Fowl series again for nostalgia. And bc I can't seem to find my old books. Still as great as I remember though.
And yes I'd love to read L'Histoire de Rayman too someday, but I have to do the same things as Steo will have to do.

Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
I remember reading a Harry Potter book as a kid, but for some reason I wasn't that into novels. I always preferred to read something that could make me learn, but then I'm so interested in the Rayman series that I'd love to be able to read that book.
Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
I remember, I didn't read much during the last year at college, only books that we needed to - economics stuff, mostly boring, but if I want to do this for a living, might as well go all out, and learn what I can (too bad I only realized it during the last semester, and not from the start, now I'll have to get really good grades in the last year that's coming up to have chance at getting accepted into one of the top 3 Economics universities in the country...) . Only after I finished with my finals did I start reading again. I read the next book in the Grimgar series (which I got hooked on last summer while working in the States - only 2 more books are released as of writing this, that I haven't read) in just 2 days, finished "Kafka On The Shore" by Murakami, who is by far my favourite author, and not long after that I've found my current summer job, which made me switch to audiobooks for the time being, as I have to wake up early...
Ah, also, yesterday I've started reading Papertowns, as I'll have a holiday break for two weeks, and I'll have enough time to read some more

Me three, it'd be nice to read it, alas I don't think I'll be able to do so in the near future, there are languages that I find more important right now than French, no matter how much I'd like to learn it.The Jonster wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2020 5:15 pm And yes I'd love to read L'Histoire de Rayman too someday, but I have to do the same things as Steo will have to do.

Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
I found it strange that we seemed to need a new topic for this all right, since we have the "games you're playing" thread. Still, it's slightly different, since this one's about books you're reading "now", whereas the others were also about ones you might have read "lately".
All right, enough hair-splitting. Unfortunately I'm not reading anything at the moment. I think the last novel I read was Wuthering Heights, before lockdown, which I think is comparable to a Tarantino film, albeit in terms of emotional abuse and manipulation rather than physical violence.
Otherwise, there are a couple of Margaret Atwood books on the shelf that I'd like to open one of these days, since I read the Handmaid's Tale and the Testaments in January and found them largely unputdownable (especially the latter).

Not a big reader myself, however everytime I go with my family outside for the weekend I bring with me some action, thriller or horror book to read.
I'm actually reading Philip K. Dick's "Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said".
Big fan of Stephen King.

Re: What book are you reading/audiobook are you listening to now?
I started rereading the Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood today. I've only read it once before, in 2020 (which incidentally was the last time anyone posted in this topic
). I think it's the kind of book that it pays to reread once you know the ending, so let's see…
EDIT: Well, one week later, I've finished it again. It definitely paid to reread it! I know it got mixed reviews, but I personally find it magnificent...

What are you currently reading?
I looked for a thread like this, and I was shocked when I didnt find any! So I made my own! (inspired by the What Games are you currently playing thread)
It can be anything, a book, an article, anything!
L'll go first, I am currently borrowing "Creating Great Web Graphics" by Laurie McCanna on the internet archive! its a book from 1996, and it teaches you how to make graphics using Photoshop (or any program you have on hand)
So, what are YOU reading?

It's a bit old, but you have been beat there: https://raymanpc.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 33#p319433
I'll let a mod determine whether its best to merge or not.
It's been a while since I've read a proper book, I do read comics though. I recently ran through and caught up on the IDW Sonic comic run.

Re: Books, Reading them.
Merged. Thanks for pointing this out.
___
It's been a while since I've read a book. When I was over in Sweden, I spent a lot more time reading books in the evening. I guess just the peaceful setting made me more in the mood to read.

Re: Books, Reading them.
Thanks for the merger, Steo, and thanks Master for linking the actual thread! I for whatever reason when I looked up, "reading", nothing came up?
But yeah, lets hope reviving this topic will help other people read more! Even just articles, or even short books!

Re: Books, Reading them.
When searching, just choose "topic titles only", and then it should show up. It's pretty strange if it really didn't yield any results for "reading".
It's odd that this thread has been buried since 2018. No idea how that happened, as it's pretty common for people to read books even in this day and age. I planned to get some books regarding programming, but then I spent more some putting it into practice instead. I was trying to read books that were in Swedish while I was over in Sweden, with the intention being to improve at the language.

Cool!
On my side, I made my first graphic using the book I am currently reading! Unfortunately ibisPaint won’t let me save as transparent.
This has been a good read so far! Can’t wait to make more graphics!

Re: Books, Reading them.
Finished The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing a little bit ago, currently reading its sequel. The first one was an interesting book, although people say its a bit of a hard read. Planning on reading The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde after I finish it, and The Master and Margarita once I find my copy, as I have no idea where I put it... (Although I recently haven't been reading too much, I really should get back to it :P)

Just finished Moby Dick! Quite a masterpiece, although it does require a little bit of concentration to read through.

Never attempted that one actually!
Currently making my way through Margaret Atwood's memoir! It's quite entertaining but I never seem to make as much time as I'd like to actually sit down and enjoy it...

Re: What books have you read lately?
Read Into the Wild recently, I found the story to be really interesting, and the author using the stories of others, alongside his own to help better exemplify Chris was a nice addition. Solid book!
