< is trying to adapt to it, but it's difficult since < keeps waking up after only a couple of hours sleep. :baille:

< is considering merging the November and December SOTMs this year, since it's two days to the November deadline. December wasn't due to be themed anyway, so there wouldn't be a Christmas-themed one either way…

< trying to fix <'s sleeping pattern didn't work, it just made it worse in the end. < had to nap for the past 3 days due to tiredness, and now < is still awake at 8am again...

< thinks it's a good idea, but we might as well make it Christmas-themed, then!

< plugged in <'s Xbox One X again to check how much different Watch Dogs Legion looks on the old console vs the new one. < thought they looked a bit closer than < expected, though is still looks better on the Series X. < then lost 6 hours of <'s save because it synced to the old one on the cloud. :boon:

< hates cloud saves tbh, they tend to cause < more problems than they solve. The Doom Eternal cloud save includes the graphics settings for whatever reason, meaning if < plays on <'s PC and then tries playing on <'s laptop the graphics are turned up too high for <'s laptop to handle and < can't even boot the game to turn them down...

< thinks Watch Dogs Legion is just somewhat broken in general, it's hard to get it to actually save because I guess Ubisoft messed something up, unless it's just Xbox this happens on.

< thinks that sounds interesting!

< had to wash <'s hands with cold water all day due to a busted immersion coil, and it felt so wrong with the sun beating in the windows and warming the whole house! < has a new understanding of just how much sense solar panels on the roof would make!

< had to generate some pretty lines and triangles for <'s graphics module. < appreciates when a piece of coursework actually gives you tangible results, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing your convoluted line drawing algorithm successfully fill in every pixel after hours of troubleshooting :hap:

< doesn't know what the coursework is about but it looks pretty. :hap:

< is currently working from the garage because <'s car is being serviced (and it's taking some time :mefiant:).

< hasn't used the immersion in many years, the gas boiler just heats the water and pumps it to the cylinder. Before that, the coal fire had a back boiler which used to do exactly that.

< is getting hot water at night because <'s coal fire also has a back boiler. Just as well, because otherwise <'s hands would probably be on strike by now! :P

< is glad Ambi got that working and agrees that it's pretty! Reminds < of a Linear Algebra assignment < had four years ago, where < had to use the Singular Value Decomposition to compress an image.

Despite them being somewhat old fashioned, coal fires are still great. :hap:

< recently ordered new guitar strings, and also started playing <'s musical keyboard again. It had been a while since < played musical instruments.

< bought some nanowebs, and one set of polyweb for the Les Paul as a second set just to try.

< has a set of D’Addario EJ10 (.010) on <’s.

< can't help feeling the same, despite the whole Climate Change thing that means we're gonna have to stop using them. On a related note, < feels the same about steam locomotives, especially now that < and <'s dad have been watching DVDs by Clive Groome. :hap:

Cool! < had to use Matlab/Octave. < remembers being quite chuffed when it was working, although then < figured out that since the singular values were stored as 32-bit floats, it didn't actually save any space. :P < didn't take it any further, but pointed out in the report that smaller bitnesses, if they existed, would solve the problem. < probably could have come up with a better solution with a bit more effort, but < probably didn't want to rewrite the code and most of the report (maybe < had left it really close to the deadline as usual :oops2:).

The reason Ambi's project reminded < of it was that < initially forgot to convert the floats back to integers after the decompression process, so < just got a random-looking rainbow instead of the decompressed image! :P
