I was asking myself the same question! Well, I should know, since I watched that walkthrough that one of our members (Electoon? :oops2:) did back in 2012. :oops2:

Edit: 32123rd post btw – yay for marking palindromic milestones! :partyhat:

It’s surprisingly easy, actually: don’t run, just walk. It’ll get you in the right spot automatically every time.
It took me awhile actually to figure that out. Sometimes I still flop.

A similar trick exists at the end of Ring a Ling in Rayman Designer. The player is often tempted to do complex things trying to ride the flying ring up to the exit avoiding the green spikes, but the solution is trivial - just stand on the lilypad, throw your fist to catch the ring, and you will in the exact correct position to miss both spiky balls. I recall how pleasant it was to figure that out years ago. :) Now most video walkthroughs show this technique, including RayCarrot's on YouTube.

Ah, so you stand on the lilypad without jumping... Most of the time you get screwed if you grab a ring without jumping, but of course if you're standing on a floating platform it'll actually work.

I just checked the map to look at the section you're talking about, and indeed, I'm not surprised that a lot of people would die there. I would most certainly have jumped to catch the flying ring, and then again I may also have panicked as it takes me through that wall of spikes. :P

Does anyone know where I can get a working APK of Rayman Classic? Every APK I found gives me an error message when I install the app.

I kind wish someone would make SPC700 covers of Rayman 1 tunes, considering the game was originally going to be a Super NES title.

Well, the closest we've got is Hayabusa's chiptune remixes!

Had no idea in which topic I should post this, so I choose this one.

For those who haven't seen this before:

https://www.twitter.com/RibShark/status ... 3513374721

Looks like these old animated Rayman 1/2 clips were meant to be an animated series called: "Rayman training" according to this website:

http://www.farravox.com/spip.php?article39

It probably was shown on a 1997/1998 "Imagina" event.

Sorry if I missed something out or being wrong, but I hope we can see some video material of it one day.

I have watched those Rayman commercials before, but I have never heard about an animated series called "Rayman training", thanks for sharing this information.

Are we talking about this video where Rayman gets sucked into a 3D environment or something? Anyway, nice find, I don't think this image is on the wiki yet!

Edit: it appears that a topic was just created about this, we might want to continue the conversation there.

So ive mainly played Rayman 1 via Rayman Advance (sadly i dont have the PS1 disc nor do i have a PS3 to buy it digitally) and i find the game really enjoyable. its also really difficult (bet y'all expected me to say that) and i find it the actual difficultly most games should have. in short i find Rayman 1 to be a really fun game with a balanced difficulty. and i hope to at least try the PS1 version or get Rayman Redemption to get the full experience with no screen crunch.

The major drawbacks with the GBA version are the low-quality music and the pixelated sprites, so I would definitely suggest you also give the PC or PS1 version a try. Not that Rayman Advance is not enjoyable to play, though!

Since I was bored, I looked it up: https://youtu.be/KgS8HSZ-NoY?t=12660
Apparently, they took out the pencils at the bottom, and the whole thing is modified into a tricky helicopter puzzle with little disappearing clouds to catch you.

Looks a bit tricky, but it's a nice adaptation nonetheless. Still, it feels really weird to see Rayman walk down that inky slope and not slide. :paranormal:

Yeah, they should've removed the inky platforms from the tileset altogether, really!
