Re: The You Game!
< thinks that's probably a good idea!
< finished BG&E again this evening. < took a more leisurely approach to the whole game this time around, since the environments and scenery are so enjoyable (even without anti-aliasing since it's a game from 2003
), and rushing through all the missions would just be boring since < has already 100%ed the game so many times. This despite the sense of urgency inherent in the story, although it's very ambiguous about the actual passage of in-universe time.

Re: The You Game!
< never did finish BG&E actually, though < plans to at some stage in the future. < has been playing a lot of Dark Souls 3 lately, and realising why everyone says the game is hard.

< says not to look at <, because you'd probably just end up with Noëlle standing proudly in front of our logo.
Re: The You Game!
< just can't wait for the snow falling interface feature.

Now that, < will be excited for!
Re: The You Game!
<'s attitude towards streaming on Twitch is starting to change. < is actually starting to hate streaming.
All this video encoding science garbage, including bitrate are all just jargon. Fuck all of that..

Re: The You Game!
< wonders if ^ should try a different medium for streaming other than Twitch. Sucks that ^ had to end the stream early today though.
Re: The You Game!
< was stuck with Twitch Studio.
< has OBS Studio installed and it can be used for livestreaming. < can try that.
< doesn't really know what sites other than Twitch can be used for livestreaming. As far as < knows, Twitch is the best platform. There is Youtube, but < would hate to livestream there.
It is just that < is just being fed up with the way livestreaming works in general because of all of that stuff to look out for like bitrates and all of that video encoding nonsense.

Re: The You Game!
< decided to put custom firmware on <'s Switch, considering there are only so many games that < would bother to play on it at this stage, and < can't be bothered to play anything online with it. The only game people even play online on them anyway is Smash, but < finds that a lot of people are too competitive with that game, and just highly toxic in general even having discussions about it.

Re: The You Game!
<'s intermediate report for <'s final year project is almost a week overdue.
Luckily < thinks it isn't a hard deadline and there won't be a penalty.
<'s having fun with it though, <'s project is to create a maze game which adjusts the difficulty of the mazes as you play in order to always be never too difficult or too easy, which involves coming up with a maze generation algorithm with a difficulty level input. <'s current solution is to stitch lots of small mazes together to force the player to navigate a "super-maze" of mazes.
Now that the report's pretty much finished I have to go through and add all the citations in

< was very tempted to try this seeing as <'s installed CFW on almost all of <'s consoles. < won't try it though unless they figure out a way of circumventing the online ban. < loves Smash too muchSteo wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 6:56 am < decided to put custom firmware on <'s Switch, considering there are only so many games that < would bother to play on it at this stage, and < can't be bothered to play anything online with it. Re: The You Game!
< remembers having to do that three years ago. < remembers there was a draft that had to be in on a certain date, which wasn't a hard deadline, but then the actual report had to be in a week later. Or maybe < is thinking of the final report, and the interim one had only one hard deadline.Ambidextroid wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:09 pm <'s intermediate report for <'s final year project is almost a week overdue.Luckily < thinks it isn't a hard deadline and there won't be a penalty.
