Nice work actually, I only looked at this thread now.

It's also worth mentioning that the "yeah" sound sample seems to be from a song named Nitzer Ebb - Getting Closer. I seen someone mention it before.

It's at 1:05 in this video.

Plume used an Akai MPC4000 to creat beats and samplings in Rayman 3 :) Source : himself ^^

You can look at my post in the french forum. There if some informations on Plume and his work with Fred Leonard. :)
Thanks for your contribution! I never would have guessed it, but it makes a lot of sense.

I remember hearing that some of the samples used in the Rayman 2 soundtrack were also used for Samurai Jack.

Just something I thought I’d share

Hello Lorenzo and guys, hope you are well.

After some years to searching this sample, asking you too in the subject there, I have finally found the 'metallic' sample that Eric Chevalier asked in the 'prison ship music' in the background. The sample is in Liquid Groove category in Stylus RMX and the sound is called 'Bolerino Android'.
! i'm so happy (phewww!) :) hope that I helped you for that too. The Prison ship moment at 0:02 to 0:05 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKSFvhvaiSg ! I think this sample was important in this Rayman 2.

Cheers and Happy New Year to the community.

From France!

Hi !

Technical question : from witch PCM cards "Native 4" comes from? I can't find it from the SN-U110-xx cards.

Or maybe "Native 4" means something else ?

Decade+ old lurker here, just wanted to add some useless but fun findings.

Rayman 2's swinging cage sound can be heard in this Vitas official video (Russian singer known for the "blblbl" song) at 0:15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYr3GfSlR24&t=15

Rayman 2's red lum sound was also sometimes heard in the show Pimp My Ride when the camera would zoom on Xzibit's face. The sounds most likely comes from a sample library, but I've always found the coincidence hilarious.

Recently, user /u/viktorir on the Rayman subreddit shared the following indie pop song: https://youtu.be/7cHHnj3xWnw?t=150 (timestamp 2:30). I'll let you guess which Rayman song it sounds similar to!

I often hear the Rayman 2's swinging cage sound, like in this fight scene from Raid (3:50) : https://youtu.be/o8EzhqwAAFE?t=230

I don't have a particularly good ear for that, but it's always amusing to recognize sounds from familiar media, even though the reason is usually just that they come from a sample library.

Another sample from a sound bank : you can hear the flutes at the begining on this track (at 0:00) :

I thinked naivly this sound was created by Laurent Parisi or Fred Leonard...

This same sample is present in South Park (S7E15) as well (at 0:18) : https://youtu.be/iV62FDTrJOg?t=18

"Skinny Puppy - Skinned - 1998"
"03 - Horror Movie Part 3" - used in Rayman 3

I think I just found a sample used in Rayman 3, and this sound comes from the Korg M1 (listen at 25:25) :

It's a quite long electronic sample, but near the end, you can ear a specific sound.

I'm quite sure this sound was used in "(Extra) The Making Of ~Scrapped Track 1~" :
