< managed to mess up <'s sleep pattern even worse than ever. < feels like sleeping now, and it's not even 6PM.

<'s sleep is much better now that < manages to stay on a regular schedule, and goes to bed much earlier.

< thought about the latter recently when < was looking for the "green arrow" image for <'s summary of the issues with Rayman 2's internal timer!

< consistently wakes up early now, shame < doesn't sleep early too. :P

< always thought it was way too warm here to need an electric blanket, except maybe on some really cold winter days, though < usually just wears clothes if it actually gets that bad, which is once in a blue moon. It just saves leaving the heating on all night.

<'s house was built 30 years ago, and doesn't have a decent central heating system, and we usually don't run said system at night, so... That said, < probably got used to overusing the blanket lately, which is probably why it failed. :oops2:

<'s house used to have a boiler in the fireplace which heated the water for the radiators, then eventually we just ended up getting gas central heating many years ago, since it's so easy to just press a button if the entire house is cold instead of having to light the fire and get coal etc.

< still kept the fireplace ofc. :hap:

< managed to somehow break something today on <'s LFS installation, not sure how, as the scripts worked before. :mefiant:

< managed to figure out what was wrong in the end, but it took some maintenance.

< is considering Georgia (the country) for a mountaineering trip this summer, but it's still a bit too early to plan everything.

<'s electric blanket went up in flames recently... Well, the plastic socket bit did, luckily not the actual blanket. The wire had been faulty for a while so < should have seen it coming. Reminds < of urban horror stories about electric blankets bursting into flames while people are sleeping :pfff:

< did think about the likes of this, which made < plug out the old one immediately on discovering that it wasn't working, rather than trying to hack it back to life. < installed a new one this evening anyway…

< thinks it's better to just ditch anything with heating elements if they stop working. Usually they can just completely short circuit when they fail, and all that can save you then is your RCD or the fuse in the plug. Unless the elements can be replaced with new ones, it's never really worth it. It's the same when it comes to electric showers, except they use a lot more electricity and can be a lot more dangerous too.
