So the aquatic world was an oasis, and an oasis would be inside of a desert, which fits completely with the scrapped desert environment. They were probably two environments in one world.
An oasis! That sounds like a pretty cool level.

You can still see this in Raymap: if you load the Gamecube version (which has the most leftover names) and scroll all the way down, you will find names for sectors/pieces of the environment. The landmarks in the background which are now used as doctors' offices all have the name "temple". :)

... and that is yet another thing that makes no sense in the final story. The biggest landmark in a world is some doctor's office? Please. It would at least be understandable if it was some sacred temple.
I couldn't agree more. That, or doctors are really, really well off in Rayman's world.

More seriously, the more I learn about the early world (and plot) of Rayman 3, the more I like it. Don't get me wrong, the final game is pretty awesome, but I guess this kind of universe is what I would like to see in Rayman 4. :hap:

It's just the 2 textures that Ubisoft was going to put in the Flabar at the beginning but that were removed afterwards (flab_eyes, flab_wing). But it does make it look weird

Very interesting! Sounds like the "Desert" of the Knaaren would originally have followed a very different gameplay arc!

Well, sacred temples can be places of healing, can't they? I could easily imagine that they were once very holy places where people brought offerings, and had mystical healing experiences. Then as newer generations took over the temples, the mystical elements gradually disappeared or were toned down, which may have been helped (or possibly hindered) by Polokus' return to the Glade. During this evolution, the Raymanian term used by the inhabitants of the Glade to refer to these places probably didn't change. Eventually though, it reached a point where the most appropriate English translation for this term is "doctor's office", rather than "temple". (Of course, what is practiced is still a lot more whimsical than the medicine of this world, what with the musical nature of the therapy, and at least one of the "doctors" using mind-altering drugs on a regular basis! :P)

I'm starting to think about how the Fakirs in Rayman Origins relate to this. Maybe their reactionary conservative religious movement was formed in response to the secularization of these very temples. Maybe the destruction of the Leptys Sceptre precipitated some sequence of events that drove much of the Glade mad (explaining the slapstick tone of Origins!), and prompted the formation of that movement among those who tried to resist the madness.

Is there a "Religion in the Glade of Dreams" thread? If not, there probably should be…

Weren't there originally going to be multiple colours of Flabard in the game? In fact, there probably still are (just not shown in-game), to explain the different-coloured Hoodlums, although you could just as easily attribute that to Laser Washing Powder (which I always did until I found out about the Flabards' colours!).

Oh, I didn't realize they were meant to be attached to them in the first place! Speaking of that screenshot, do you still have the uncropped version? It would be great if you could replace the cropped one with the original. :)

Probably, we also see a brown Flabar in the intro cinematic, so I think there must have been other colors but they were scrapped. I think that the Hoodlums' color is related to the Flabars' color since André's costume is made with their fur

No, I meant the original screenshot, at the game's native resolution, and before you cropped it to show only the creature. Or is it not a screenshot?

This was just a screenshot from Raymap, unfortunately I didn't manage to import the textures directly into the game. And I didn't keep the uncropped image

I wanted to know if I could add the E3 demo to the Wikia as well as all the other Rayman 3 demos on PS2 that still haven't been added or should we only put the demos that are "legally" available via CD sales or on Steam, eShop, etc?

Edit: Never mind, I hadn't read the top of the page :oops2:

The beta Flabar looks funny, is there any reason he looked like that?

Has anyone played Rayman 3 on OS X? I’m talking about the version originally released for MacOS 9 and OS X up to Leopard. If so, what was you experience with it? I’m trying to play the game on an eMac 2005 with the PPC G4 processor and the audio quality is really bad. All the voice lines and sound effects (except for a couple like collecting the jewels) sound really bad, not like any of the other versions of the game. It’s hard to hear the voice lines half the time and it ruins the experience of the game. I don’t know if this is normal for the OS X version, and I don’t know if it’s something that can be fixed, but If anyone knows anything about it, I’d love to hear your experience :D :D

Does anyone just revisit the Summit just to snowboard? And then keep failing it so you can race again??

Well, no, but I'm so terrible at it, that it takes me about 700 tries to get the green gem, so I have to keep failing again and again.

I'm just as bad as you when it comes to getting that green gem, let alone in a good combo, but honestly the collision boxes are so small in that level that I kinda want to blame the game at this point. :P

You must be the one that made me realize that, then! And to think that in the other levels, Rayman attracting the gems is more of a pain in the ass than anything else when it comes to scoring, because you often have to pass by a lot of gems without collecting them yet in order to get the best combos, and I remember I would always fail and collect them anyway. :fou2: :pascontent:

I can't leave a green gem in plain sight in a level. That goes against my OCD. So every time I play it, I make sure to take it, even if it is literally a 100 attempts. And every time I succeed, it feels accidental.

That's pretty much the same here, I try to at least collect all the gems while playing.

Not me opening twitter and discovering a rayman 3 PROTOTYPE has been found :o really late to this but I'm so happy, I immediately rushed here and it didn't disappoint! Can anyone please tell me where I can find most of the stuff found? Like a list or something :) I can't believe we finally see the Begoniax model from the placeholders found in R3HD
EDIT: WAIT A MINUTE! I was checking out the wiki and an ARTBOOK HAS BEEN FOUND? HOW? Something like that would've made me freak out, there's so much good stuff here! And I see it's dated 2003, how did this get out?

Hi Eren! Long time no see. :)

You can read more about the prototype here, and you can even download here if you want. I suggest you go through the last few pages of this topic as well as we've discussed some of its elements in detail.

As for the artbook, not sure which one you're referring to?

Welcome back, Eren. :)

Not sure, if someone posted this here before but few days ago this was found:

https://paris.ubisoft.com/en/project/ra ... 8291015625

The URLs say these pictures got uploaded in 2020/09 which is really weird.

Besides Rayman wears a cape in that picture, which was found as as texture in the files of the newly discovered R3 E3 prototype.
