< found out that < for some reason needed rustup to compile Firefox. < was wondering why it kept failing on "rustup which rustc", and the answer is that < stupidly deleted a folder named .rustup in the home directory.

< still wonders why multiple monitors don't work so well on Linux in general though, especially with Freesync (you have to turn off the other monitors or it won't sync), though it works fine on Windows. The problem is that < doesn't want to use Windows, so < will just have to make do with it unless they ever decide to improve Wayland. < still uses Xorg at the moment, and it only really affects games anyway.

When < spoke about Firefox, < didn't realise it would suddenly be so broken that anything which tries to play videos crashes it, no matter what < tries.

< just heard someone on the radio read out "rm -rf /*" as a destructive command – except they left out the "punctuation", just saying "RMRF", which is meaningless

< would just expect to see "RMRF: command not found", sounds very destructive yeah.

The only time < done this was when < was still a really young teenager that was clueless about computers. < had such a crappy computer that < decided to try delete anything in the Windows folder which wasn't in use, thinking < could save space on <'s crappy 8GB HDD.

< watched an episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire hosted by Jeremy Clarkson tonight just to see what it was like. Interestingly, compared to how it was when Chris Tarrant hosted it, they have to confirm someone is watching their friend when they use phone a friend, to be sure they're not looking up the answers to cheat. < understands that this would have been much easier before people had smartphones.

Yep, < noticed that when the new ones started up in 2019, and it made sense. Really though, they should have been doing it all along. < recently saw "Quiz", a dramatization of the Charles Ingram scandal, and it showed that some people's "friends" were actually roomfuls of people with encyclopedias.

< never thought about it back then because internet was less common at the time, but that's pretty funny.

< heard that Ingram wasn't supposed to get to a million that time, but that they just got greedy. If < recalls correctly, he was even doing so bad in the first half before they ran out of time that all 3 lifelines were gone by the time he got to 4000. It was a bit miraculous for him to start getting all the right answers with weird instincts even if the coughing hadn't been so obvious.

< wonders if they'd have even cared if he hadn't went all the way to a million, but they really did make it so obvious. "I don't think it's C *cough cough* actually wait I think it's C".

< just realized that < can get Rayman 2 running on Wayland by asking Wine to emulate a virtual desktop at 1920×1080

EDIT: It also works for Rayman 3, but < had to use Lutris to specify the virtual desktop instead of doing it directly through wineconfig!
