When I'm working on long articles, I usually save them locally and edit with Vim, so it's wikicode all the way for me too! But at least with Vim's syntax highlighting it's kinda semi-visual!

I do the same with Notepad++, I don't think it's got syntax highlighting for wikicode but I use it for bulk operations anyway.

There might be a similar plugin for Notepad++, but I don't really need it. A Markdown highlighter might help too, since it's rather similar to wikicode.
