Well, I did a test with a yellow lum from R2 and used a website to create the APNG file. Btw, where is this icon used?PluMGMK wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:47 pm I wonder if it's time to replace this little icon? It's really low-res, and lacking transparency so it looks kinda OK in its usual context, and really gammy on mobile (at least for me where for some reason everything is white like Wikipedia). Perhaps we could use Raymap to take some screenshots and make a new APNG version with an alpha channel? It seems that all the currently-developed browsers now support this format, so there's no real reason to stick with GIF anymore…

Not bad at all! There's a little horizontal artefact at the bottom though…

I forgot about that template. For some reason when I saved the images from Raymap a line of pixels appeared at the bottom. Here is another test, it has the same size than the original and it should have no artifacts.PluMGMK wrote: Tue Aug 31, 2021 11:29 pm Not bad at all! Looking good, though it should probably be at least twice the size of the original to look good on high-pixel-density devices.

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
I could fix the first icon I posted or make a new one with a size of 42 x 56p, what do you think would be the best option? Also, I wonder if the following configuration is correct:Hunchman801 wrote: Wed Sep 01, 2021 7:17 pm Looking good, though it should probably be at least twice the size of the original to look good on high-pixel-density devices.![]()

Let's make a new one and see! Also, the configuration is fine.

Here is another test. I wonder if the speed is correct.Hunchman801 wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 1:39 pm Let's make a new one and see! Also, the configuration is fine.
Edit: I added a slightly faster version.

I tried to do side-by-side comparisons with the original, but my mind just started playing tricks on me
I've left them in below in case anyone else wants to try! That being the case, I think either one is fine speedwise. They seem to be slightly too narrow though, with the edges of the wings getting clipped on some frames…

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
I examined the original files downloaded from Raymapp and the wings looked cropped, even the first icon I posted that has some extra space on the sides looks like has clipped wings. I attached the original files in case you want to check them. It seems that is the way they're supposed to look (unless I'm missing something).
Also, to me, the B version looks a little bit better.

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
I see what you mean, the left wing seems a bit strange on one of the frames. I wonder if that's a glitch in Raymap or if that's also how it looks in-game. Also, yeah, B does seem better, doesn't it?

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
I checked the PS2/Revolution version and it seems that the wings of the yellow lums still look cropped in some frames. However the N64 version doesn't have this problem (and it seems that the animation is faster).PluMGMK wrote: Sat Sep 04, 2021 10:13 pm I see what you mean, the left wing seems a bit strange on one of the frames. The Lums look better on PC though, don't they?

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
Well, the template that Plum mentioned is for the PC version, so I guess there is no other option (I posted the N64 version as a comparison and in case it is needed). I suppose most people won't notice the cropped wings unless they zoom in. Also, if you wish to replace the icon from this template, here if the yellow lum from the PS version (the animation of this one has too many frames, so maybe it would be better to just use a static image).

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
It's a good point, I forgot that we had a different template for each version. But if we do it for Lums, we might want to do for cages too.

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
Btw, why does the template for the R2 Dreamcast levels have a different icon for the lums? I think R2 (PC & Dreamcast versions), Revolution and Rayman M use the same graphic for the yellow lum.
Also, I've seen some gameplay of R2 and it seems that there is a frame where the wings of the lums appear to be cropped, I guess nothing can be done about that. If there is nothing else to change, I think the apng file of the yellow lum (PC version) can be uploaded to the wiki.
About the cages, which ones need to be changed?

Because it’s shown that way in the Isle of Doors:Elite Piranha wrote: Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:23 am Btw, why does the template for the R2 Dreamcast levels have a different icon for the lums?

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
Good catch! In that case, I agree that your apng is now perfect as it is! I think the PS one is also really good, even with all the frames!Elite Piranha wrote: Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:23 am Also, I've seen some gameplay of R2 and it seems that there is a frame where the wings of the lums appear to be cropped, I guess nothing can be done about that. I guess all of them? They're all lo-res, and could be replaced with sprites ripped directly from the game. At least they're not animated…
Ah, that makes sense! I'd wondered that too… It's a pity, because without context it makes it look like the Dreamcast version has inferior graphics, which we all know is not true. But it's actually just a stylistic choice in a specific location…

Yes, like Fifo said, that's how they appear on the level selection screen, but I'm open to replacing them with the actual models if people think it looks better! That stuff hasn't been updated in over 12 years after all...

Re: The final version of RayWiki is available!
I forgot about those icons, thanks for posting the image. The problem is that I don't know how to access these sprites.
About the apng for the PS version, I just wanted to mention that I took the frames from the lums that you actually collect, that graphic for the yellow lums that appear in the top-right corner of the screen and in the Hall of Doors is different (I don't know how to access this graphic in Raymapp). Besides the animation doesn't look exactly the same as the real one, it is just an approximation.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:05 pm Good catch! I assume the size would be around 56 x 56 px? I can find the cages in the levels, but I don't know how to make them look exactly how they appear in the graphic from the counters, I can only attempt to save one that looks similar.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:05 pmI guess all of them?
