So you can come when you want to play with us or help us improve the game ...
I have a question about the new version, what does the "Debug CD2 (Rayman Arena claasic edition)" file do? When I click on it, Windows asks me which program do I want to use to open the file, and a black screen appears with the following text:
Waiting 2 seconds, press a key to continue ...
What I had to do was close the windows, find the ISO file in the "Rayman Arena Classic Edition" folder, mount it, and start the game (was able to finally play in Timber Wood).

Also, the presentation of the installer is better, however it is kind of weird to have to agree to license terms and conditions, I assume that is the same text that was used in the original game.

yes it's a copy paste of the original license from 2001 ^^.

the debug cd2 is a small program which automatically mounts the iso2 then after a few seconds automatically launches the game.

if windows asks you which program you want to use to open an iso is that you must be on windows 7 right?

No, I'm using Windows 10 to play this game.

OK then in this case when you click on the debug the game should launch by itself after 10 seconds

After 10 seconds the "Select Adapter" window appears, then I close it to play offline, but then I can't start the game because the iso was not mounted. At the same time there is a window that asks which program should be used to open .ISO files. I think for me it is just easier to mount the iso file manually and then start the game.

Yes, now it works, but even with the debug, you still need to eject the iso manually after you finish playing. I don't know what others feel, but I rather mount the iso myself than use the debug.

The problem during the battles when you are moving forward (or backwards) and press Esc at the same time (causing the selection in the menu screen to move by itself) still remains, however it is a really minor problem, you can easily press Esc to exit and Esc again to go back to the menu, or just pause the game while you're not moving in those directions.

Btw, what are you calling the current version of the game, v. 1.1?

I want to share this in case other people run into the same problem.

In order to play online you have to allow r_arena.exe to "communicate on these networks", so at some point a Firewall window will appear and ask you to do that, there are two boxes that can be checked (one for private networks and other for public networks). In my case I only checked the one for private networks (which is the default option), this caused the following:

At first I had problems to start a session, I couldn't see it, or others couldn't join mine. So, I had to go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allowed apps, and check all the boxes for both r_arenas (first image), that solved the problem (it seems that the other player had to do something similar), I was able to play online. After the session ended, I left the game, left the network, went offline and closed Radmin VPN. However, then I did something (can't remember exactly, maybe unchecked some of the boxes of the r_arenas) and when I checked the same list of allowed apps again (some time later), I had 5 r_arenas (second image).

What I had to do to solve the problem was (as instructed by Justaxe):
  • Go to the same list (Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allowed apps).
  • Remove all the r_arena rules.
  • Start the game and try to create another LAN game, so the Windows Defender Firewall asks you again if you allow r_arena.exe to "communicate on these networks".
  • Make sure you check the two boxes.
  • Continue playing as usual.
After doing that I checked the list of Allowed apps and I only had one r_arena rule instead of 5 (third image). So, it seems that everything is ok now.

I plan to share more screenshots of the game, so people can see how it works.

Hi, I can't start the game, I'm on W10. When I launch the debug icon, a "Select Adapter" window opens, then I select Wi-Fi on it, it says "please run the Rayman Arena setup", but when I do it open the "Select Adapter" again.

As far as I now, you shouldn't select Wi-Fi on the "Select Adapter" window, you should install Radmin VPN (which, I was told, does not give your real IP to others), and after that it should be available on the list. I hope Justaxe can help you with your problem.

If the debug doesn't work for you, maybe you can try mounting the iso manually and using the regular Rayman Arena icon to launch the game (which version are you using, classic or HD?).

Hello everyone, I just released a new update (1.1) for the Rayman Arena game.
What's new?

-all maps can be played on the HD version (thanks to raycarot for his help ^^)

-the backup file and this time well repaired ^^
-it is now possible to launch the game in window mode (both versions can do it but I advise to use it especially on the sd version to save time.
When we do "alt tab" it takes about 2 seconds on my computer with the sd version to resume the game ...)
I added 1 icon on the desktop for that ...
the cd debug mode which mounts the game iso then launches the game has been replaced by cd2 launcher which just mounts the cd2 iso (to be used only if the game asks you for cd 2 at startup)

to install it you can just update or uninstall the old version and reinstall the new one

It seems that this time, after uninstalling and reinstalling the new version, the r_arena rule didn't duplicate.

Here is a gif of how to create a session (hopefully someone finds it useful), and also a message that appeared at the end of a session (this is from version 1.0.0).

A file that can be used to fix the "MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll not found" error that could happen when running the program. If installing the latest Visual C++ Redistributable (and rebooting) doesn't work, this file can be added to the following folder if missing:

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\SysWOW64
Edit: this was used to make the portable version work on Windows 10. The RaymanArenaPatch from zZeck was also needed (by replacing the arenapatch.asi file from the SD or HD folder, located in the "game" folder that comes within the zip file).

Hi there! I recently downloaded the portable version, I clicked on “run anyway” and accepted the installation. Though it won’t install at all! Is there something I’m doing wrong? I don’t have a “uni.ini” file in the virtualstore folders.

Or if you're on 32-bit Windows it's "system32" instead of "SysWOW64". Or maybe the issue doesn't arise on 32-bit Windows :oops2:

I think that could be the case, since I already had the file in the "System32" folder before trying to run the game and I still got the error. The problem was only solved after adding the .dll file to "SysWOW64" (I have a 64-bit Windows 10).

It was weird that, even though I installed the vc_redist.x64.exe and the computer was up to date, I still didn't have that file.
