(Finally getting around to making a thread for this, since I've been working on it a lot lately)
RaymapGame is a "remake/remaster" of Rayman 2 (and later, Rayman 3 as well) based off of Droolie's Raymap, a level viewer and direct adaptation of the OpenSpace engine (the original game engine) running in Unity. As none of the actual game code can be decompiled into anything functional, I've decided to reprogram every single object and mechanic in the game myself trying to remain extremely accurate with a few improvements (in my opinion) to make it feel smoother. It's a lot of fun actually, and I'd estimate it's about 1/3 done. In the future the original graphical assets can be replaced with ease, making this a very viable avenue for a legitimate remaster!
Download! (Updated: November 23)
Setup instructions:
• This loads the actual Rayman 2 files! Open Settings.txt and replace the given directory with the directory to your own Rayman 2 install. REMEMBER: you need to use the path to the Data subfolder, not just the Rayman 2 root directory.
• If you have other versions of the game extracted, you can define those directories as well and run them by changing the GameMode property.
• Select the RaymapGame shortcut and go to Right Click -> Properties. At the end of the Target line you will see -l jail_10. jail_10 is the level codename for Rayman 2's intro cutscene. Change it to any level you want; every folder in the Rayman 2/Data/World/Levels directory is an area in the game with its given codename (for example, Learn_30 is the start of the Fairy Glade).
• Run the RaymapGame shortcut and enjoy!

Re: [DOWNLOAD] RaymapGame - Rayman 2 reprogrammed
oh my god just the fact i can run around the levels in proper widescreen at 144FPS is absolutely incredible
i like the way the camera behaves too, although for now i have only tested the axel fight (thats the default) and woods of light since i didnt have much time
the way rayman behaves going out of a purple lum swing is weird but actually a lot of fun when you get used to it being different
yeah this is great holy shit thank you

Wow, it looks great! I played around with it a bit, and I think the controls feel as natural as the original game. It's a bit glitchy but it's great to see so much working already!
I love the colour scheme of your setup guide too

Re: [DOWNLOAD] RaymapGame - Rayman 2 reprogrammed
I'm a bit of a noob and new to this kind of stuff, I would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me out please.
I have seen the following link (viewtopic.php?t=74728) and it seems apparent that I need to download the base game from somewhere initially, and then replace a directory. I'm just a bit confused as there are several different versions of Rayman 2/Rayman Revolution ? I want to get the right one, so as not to mess up the RayMap mod. Which one would you reccomend to download (Windows PC).
Secondly, I found this link (https://gbatemp.net/threads/ps2-rayman- ... 38.655828/) which is for a textures pack, to make the graphics look better. Would it be okay to use this in conjunction with the above mod, or are there any better suggestions from people in the forum that have no doubt tried one of these things? What worked out best for you?
After many years of waiting and hoping for a remaster of this amazing game from my childhood, I played some of it for the second time on a PS2 emulator around a year or so ago. Now I have a better PC more capable of running higher FPS and graphics, It would be great to know what to do to get this set up optimally.
Thank you if you're able to help with this!
