the pyramids the were used as bases for the magic spheres as a ray effect that is connect with other pyramids, that ray effect remember me the ray effect of the chair ride of the Top of the world level, but probably are not the same.
also, in the in those early builds there this:

Rayman is swimming in an unknown location, but there is piranhas in the water, including many small piranhas around Rayman, possibly the death for liquids like toxic water or water with piranhas don't was implemented in this development point.

Or maybe it was already implemented but they intended to have more swimming areas: after all, there aren't that many in the final game, are there?

No, not many. Some small sections in The Fairy Glade, Sanctuary of Water and Ice, and most of Whale Bay. That's it?

I wish there had been more.

I think Marx's point is that the piranhas seem to be swimming around Rayman and biting him, yet he's not dying. That does feel like some kind of programming mistake, all right…

Maybe they were originally meant to have a symbiotic relationship? :fou2:

Not sure, given what I was recently saying about how the sea may originally have been a much more hostile environment than it is in the final game…

I'm almost tempted to create a thread named "Polokus' Nightmares", dedicated to art that depicts the terrible creatures that came from Polokus mind. That whale has a lot of potential.

I know this is probably really old news. But I find it weird, we recently have Rayman 2 E3 1998 and 1999 footage, but no one has really talked about it. Maybe, I didn't see a thread. But I thought it was worth dropping for archival purposes on the wiki. I just found these videos today and it's worth bringing more attention to. I want to credit Raymanguy711 for documenting it at least.

This kind of is old news. Over twenty years old. (Get it?)
I was just joking. Anyways, I came across this channel the other day lol. I know that raymanguy71 had an old channel which you can't see anymore so I was glad to find he had a new channel. Nice job finding the videos. :mryellow:

Towards the end of the first of those three videos, you see Rayman crashing into the ceiling with a barrel in Tomb of the Ancients. I seem to recall that that room has fortified walls so that you can't escape it with the "Ultimate Rayman 2 Glitch" – I wonder if playtesters crashing into the ceiling was very common in there and inspired that fortification…

The last one talks about adjustable difficulty – pity that didn't pan out… (I get the feeling I saw that video before and made the same comment, but anyway )

I'm also not sure that Mario was really affected by the release of Rayman 2, however good it was. :P

Why Billy West didn’t reprise Murphy’s voice in Rayman Revolution same for John Leguizamo as Globox? For instance,as an example.

This was mentioned years ago, but I want it to bring it up again, since it could be a nice piece of trivia that can be added to the wiki. In the Rayman Revolution trailer, there is a credit at the end that says: "Music by Kohann", a group that was known for using the Breton language (specifically the Gwenedeg dialect), and if I'm not mistaken Rayman 2 was inspired by Nordic and Celtic mysticism.

Also, the music that was used in the trailer, seems to be a remix of the Awenn track from the Mil bed album (released in 1999). Where the orginal full song (Kohann - Awenn (Transglobal Underground Mix)) was retrieved is still unknown, according to one of the uploaders in YouTube, we only know that it came from a nordic website.

Maybe it's none of my personal business, but I wish I could knew more about that music band. Kohann Awenn also sounds like Rayman M Main Menu/Titile Screen.

Well, there is an article about Kohann in the french wikipedia. About the Rayman M Main Menu music, if I remember correctly, it was possibly made by a group named RIPLEY.

Hi, is there a way to increase the draw distance or have the fade in effect for the lums in the pc version of the game? Sometimes it's annoying to see them pop in when getting close. I have to use the directx renderer with dgvoodoo in order to use the 4k texture mod, is there a way to fix it without using glide or there's nothing to be done?

Sadly there's nothing to be done at the moment. I don't think this depends on the graphics driver at all. The 0%-100% transparency distances are an engine thing. They're defined per object, and along with all the other object data, buried deep within the .sna files. To increase the draw distances, either those files would have to be modified, or a memory mod would have to be created. It's a lot of work regardless.
