While searching on IGN for some cool Rayman stuff (rare Rayman pics, etc) I came across this:

A Gameshark magazine shows that this was indeed a game, but there are no information about the game yet.

OK now, this is either really cool OR a really elaborate prank based on the recent discoveries of the Rayman 2 engine:



Yes, gameplay from Rayman 2: Back to School with Picture City-like environments and an educational purpose. Supposedly GameStar dug that up... but why April 1st of all the dates?

I'm thinking prank, since why would a real trailer show so many wrong answers? It's very well done though, if it is.

EDIT: Also, remember Robin was working on creating new level geometry for Rayman 2 before there was ever an engine leak

It did indeed look a lot like a hoax, and like hoodlumsworld pointed out, the recent leak of the Rayman 2 engine was too much of a coincidence, but it is nonetheless very impressive and incredibly promising for future fan projects. Great work here.

Maybe, but not the whole topic because this listing did exist. Anyways, I fell for it. I like how it looks, though.
Actually, maybe. Because how would someone do it without it being confusing. Maybe this could be a duel topic for the real listing and the fan game.

This prank was made so good that I have believed it was real, at first I thought it was a joke because of the VHS effect not being convincing for me, and why releasing such a thing on April 1st?
But when I have seen the original levels and knowing that such things were not possible through modding I thought it was official!
