Re: Resident Evil
We've known about this a while now, but it's finally official. Still disappointed that they did not go for a remake of Code Veronica first, but now all we can do is wait and see.
Re: Resident Evil
Wondering if any of you had the chance to play RE VIII:Village?

Re: Resident Evil
I know that Hunch has played it. Unfortunately I've only seen let's plays of it.
Re: Resident Evil
I’m curious to have some feedbacks then. I really enjoyed RE7 but I am wondering if RE8 is really similar or if it is more gameplay oriented like an RE4.

I hope they make the Regenerators stronger and more difficult to kill.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Gameplay:
Apparently you can use cows as a weapon and block Dr. Salvador's attacks.

Re: Resident Evil
I'm quite excited for that game but you know there's a overwhelming amount of remakes when even your dad says the original was fine why are they making this? He changed his mind after he saw the explosion cow
environment attack but still the point stands is this remake nesscary?

Re: Resident Evil
I think he has a great point, and I've been saying the same ever since the first rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake. I remember explaining this in detail here, all while pointing out that it would have been much better to remake Code Veronica first, and maybe the first Resident Evil (again) as well as Resident Evil 0.Crash267 wrote: Sat Oct 22, 2022 6:23 am I'm quite excited for that game but you know there's a overwhelming amount of remakes when even your dad says the original was fine why are they making this? Regardless, my first impressions of the new trailer are indeed positive. The part where Leon blocks Dr. Salvador's chainsaw with a handgun is absolutely ridiculous, but at least the game looks good and it looks like it plays good, too. What they've shown so far is very close to the original, but I remember reading that they want to make it a darker game. Curious as to how they intend to achieve that!

Re: Resident Evil
In one of the trailers you can see . I wonder if that's just a cutscene or if she can actually do that in the game.

Re: Resident Evil
Well, you could already kill it in the original game, but you got nothing from it. At least, now the death of the poor thing serves a purpose!Crash267 wrote: Sun Oct 23, 2022 7:35 am game looks great but seriously cowexplosion attacks this is ridiculous

Maybe they want to spice up the sections with Ashley? There's probably no need though, those were short enough in the original not to be much of a bother. They even made for a refreshing change at times.Elite Piranha wrote: Sun Oct 23, 2022 5:33 pm In one of the trailers you can see . On an unrelated note, I have watched the recently released Resident Evil series on Netflix, and, suffice to say, it's a worthy heir to the other movies and series that preceded it, in that it's a steaming pile of shit. It's slow, incredibly boring, most characters are so unbearable you're praying for them to get killed (sadly, it's the others that do), and the only connections to the video game series are a bunch of half-assed references probably meant as homages which bear no significance to the plot whatsoever. Unsurprisingly, it got canceled one month after its release.

Re: Resident Evil
Bumping this thread as I recently found that, according to some rumors, Capcom is currently working on a remake... of the remake of Resident Evil 1! Not going to complain if this turns out to be true: the first remake was the game that introduced me to the series, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Complete with modern gameplay, this could be a true masterpiece! Plus, the great work they did with the remake of RE4, despite my initial doubts, makes me even more optimistic about it.
Of course, I've been saying for a while that they should remake Code Veronica, which has great potential and the most margin for technical improvement of all main series games, but maybe they'll finally get around to it after this re-remake? Not that I really believe it: if the rumor is true, then Resident Evil 0 is probably next. Which fine too, it's also got good potential. It's with RE5 and 6 that things are gonna get more hairy.

Looks like Resident Evil 9 is scheduled to release next year:
Still no news about what will be the next remake though!

Re: Resident Evil
So, more gameplay of the upcoming RE9 was released a few days ago, and so far I'm liking this creepy stalker (could that be what's left of ?
), but the big news for me is that a remake of Code Veronica is in the works! Well, apparently, the same leaker already mentioned it last year, but this time it comes with more information. I've been asking for remake of Code Veronica for at least 5 years, as I've always thought there's great potential there, so I have high hopes for this.
The same goes for Resident Evil 0, which also had great potential despite its shortcomings (I especially liked the atmosphere), and for which a remake is apparently also in the works. That's a lot to look forward to in the next few years!
