Definitely the rest of it, though I can imagine it's very easy to get caught in a spiral or earning money for money.

Surely, especially if you feel pressurized to acquire status symbols that weren't part of the original plan, and those keep sucking on the reserves…

There's no doubt that the more you earn, the more you spend, even if that's not a conscious process. It doesn't have to be proportional, though.

I'd just rather have enough money for what I need, I don't think I'd even want to live in a mansion and have all that attention.
