3D without any hesitation.
As much as I love Rayman 1 and its similar games, it's been too long since Rayman 3 and I'm not very fond of the UbiArt titles especially since they exhausted their formula in the recent years. Origins and Legends were already more than enough IMO.

Yeah, I think it's time for 3D. Luckily there are several 3D fangames being worked on :hap:

Just Origins was good enough. Legends was already pushing it for me tbh

I wish Legends would have innovated more compared to its predecessor.
I still highly enjoyed it (even if I think it shouldn't have been made into a Rayman game for some reasons like the story and gameplay style), but it felt like a rehash at times and Back to Origins was really there to make it look like it has more content than it actually has.

IIRC Back to Origins was added when they decided to port it to more consoles due to popular demand. The porting effort was going to take months, so they felt they might as well add more content while they were at it. (Or maybe I'm thinking of the Invasion levels, which are actually kinda neat)

3D. I've always liked being able to roam/break stuff.

Can you really break stuff in Rayman 2/3, that doesn't directly impact plot/gameplay? I can't really think of any examples… Now you've got me thinking of a Half-Life-2-like Rayman game where everything is interactible :fou2:

Well, there were the "barrels" in 3, I guess, even if it's still involved for points!

The piggybanks? I guess… Also there's a snowman you can break in the Summit Beyond the Clouds that doesn't give you anything, I guess that counts!

Yes, and if we're talking interactivity, we had some entities like the turtles which could be tortured ( :hap: ) or the weird mechanical bird things on some walls of the Clearleaf Forest which you could punch!

Ah yes, now I remember! The bird thing annoyed me originally because I kept punching it and it didn't do anything. But now I'm old enough to appreciate the interactivity for its own sake!

Not all of them, you can technically skip some of them and still finish the game.

And technically, you can break other things in both games... such as the games themselves! Do the speedrun glitches! :bad:

OK, maybe not plot, but they still affect gameplay! Like whether or not there's a guy shooting at you :hap:

I suppose you’re right about that. But we’ll what about the camera in the chair ride in top of the word?

Yea, I had almost forgotten about it because it’s easy to miss if you’re not shooting constanty
