Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
It has been raining really hard around where I'm at too, so I totally understand the worry about losing data from outages. Amazingly our power stayed intact through the hail and high winds!

Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Good idea, Ray2005. It rained really hard here too, but good news: I've got a gamemaker account! I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with it, but I've got one now.
Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Stay safe guys my area is really smokey it is where the fires of 2017 took place
Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Good news! I got the zip file ready for those who use GameMaker Studio 2! I can't send it in PM because there's no option to send files! Sadly some zip files are too large to send here.

I don't know what to do with an .yyp file, I'm afraid. For my own game, I made a .exe, that most people can simply launch?
Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Anyone going to school today because I am till 800am 320pm so I won't be able to reply sorry.
Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Never heard of a yyp file. I’m assuming it’s the file for the project I sent. I’m pretty sure nothing will happen to your game. Just be sure to save it in your projects before opening the zip (or yyp).need my speed wrote: Tue Sep 06, 2022 10:25 am I don't know what to do with an .yyp file, I'm afraid. Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
I must be doing something wrong here. I've got the game in the GMStudio2 folder, but when I try to run it in Gamemaker (zipped or unzipped) I get a bunch of resource load failures, and the assets of the game itself are nowhere to be found. Also there doesn't seem to be a room for the game to run in. I've looked around at manuals and even attempted to get it working myself, but I haven't had any luck.

That's odd. I think the assets are referring to all the sprites/sounds. I could try sending everything by a Dropbox link. I don't know if that'll help.

Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
It's just really weird. I gave the zip another shot but it's still bringing this up whenever I try to run the project;
Sorry for the low quality screencap but it's the only way I could think to convey the problem. But attempting to run the project file always brings it up, and I don't know if I'm just clueless as to where projects and zips should go in the folder or what.
Having checked again there doesn't seem to be a room present for the game to run in, and although I figured out how to create a room to run it, there'll be nothing in it because the sprites and assets seem to be nonexistent.

I'll see if I can send the assets via Dropbox.ChronicTraitor wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 1:09 am It's just really weird. Also! Got some new sound effects ready! Yep, they're all for the final boss.

But then we still wouldn't have the rooms wherein your game actually takes place, no? Why not create an .exe, so that we can simply play your game?

I’ll be sure to, it was midnight where I am and I was getting tired. I didn’t make a room because nothing was coded yet. XD I’ll get to work making an .exe ASAP.

Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
I finally realized why I was having issues with missing files, I only had the game itself!
Sending the asset zips has filled in the corresponding tabs, so that must've been the problem. I don't think there was anything inherently wrong with sending the zips here, but I suppose Dropbox can work too. Like need my speed says, there is still no room to use these assets in, and apparently a small handful of assets are still missing; It seems to only be a couple sounds, objects, and the missing room.
The list is far shorter now though, which is a good sign!
You might be able to see the lit up asset tabs on the side too.
An exe of an early test version with what you have all together in playable rooms would be a fantastic idea. I wish you the best of luck with putting the exe together!

Hmm, that’s odd, the missing sounds/sprites are in the folders on Dropbox. Strange. I’ll be sure to get the rooms working if our power doesn’t go out from the rain.

Ooooh, but then I misunderstood! I thought you were trying to show us a playable part of your game, not merely the assets that would go in it.Ray2005 wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 6:25 pmI’ll be sure to, it was midnight where I am and I was getting tired. Re: Rayman Fangame: Mr. Dark’s Last Stand.
Hey Ray2005, I snagged all the files and I found something odd. In the music folder there's a file called "Treetop_Tumble HD.ogg"
The rest of the files are music files except for Treetop Tumble. Just thought I'd let you know.

Here are the last few assets I forgot to add. As for the missing sounds, I just had to readd them. Hopefully this works. I'm still working on the test level right now.
