Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
Apparently Grant Kirkhope didn't know about this, weird, considering that he is one of the composers.

ok fair enough "\_(<_>)_/" I thought that they would of announced some other rayman stuff tooRayman Saturn wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:51 pm Meh. Not what I would call an actual return.
It’s cool, yeah, and I’m happy for everyone excited for it, but it’s nothing more than crossover content. A DLC for a game very different from Rayman’s typical gameplay styles, no less... Ubisoft is not promising anything else for the franchise, so we could just get even more years of nothing besides the usual side content like that or rehashed mobile game.
Rayman deserves a lot better, and especially something more fitting for a platformer when we got almost nothing and just a few lazy recycled games for years since Legends. If this had been another franchise like Metroid, this most likely would have been received about as poorly as Federation Force when it was revealed. When you’ve done nothing or hardly anything good for years, you don’t simply return with spin-off content.
Still, it’s positive news, and I’m grateful for the team’s work on it, but I think the Rayman franchise deserves more than crumbs. Like, you know... a new main game or that "3D Rayman 4" that has been requested for over 18 years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, it still has the Rabbids so I’m automatically not interested.![]()

I guess your kind of right, unless this is good for Rayman and there will be a new game. They shouldn't just release a new crossover DLC after that long. I jusy hope this doesn't ruin Rayman somehow. But this is a crazy announcement for the fan base.
Yeah, I wonder who will compose music for it or if he will help. I guess if it's going to be a while, maybe he wouldn't have done so by now? And I heard that this was the last DLC from a Gamexplain video that I didn't fully watch. Did the Forward say it was last? Also, I remember being on the Switch shop and seeing that it had three DLC packs. The last one was set for a while in advance.Elite Piranha wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:55 pm Apparently Grant Kirkhope didn't know about this, weird, considering that he is one of the composers.

As somebody who grew up with Rayman, including Rayman Raving Rabbids, which me and my two siblings played to death: It's really nice to see Rayman back with the rabbids.

Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
It's so nice to even just see Rayman again! Having seen word of the Ubisoft Forward last night I was hoping Rayman would be around this time. I was definitely surprised by the news!
Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
Ok it’s not a new platformer so not the ideal, but frankly I’m super excited for this. Having Rayman back in 3D in any form is a welcome surprise. And I hope that this can restore some popularity for him and perhaps lead to a proper new entry in the series. My brother came downstairs and told me Rayman was back and I didn’t believe him at first but then he showed me yhat teaser. And it has me truly excited to see what could be in store for our limbless hero.

Man this is so unbelievable very impressive
Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Soliani got the rights of the Rayman IP to do anything else besides a DLC for Mario+Rabbids, which let's remember this DLC will come out in late 2023.
Soliani then has always wanted to make a platformer. Let's not underestimate this.
If everything is true, in a year or two we will really have an answer to all these theories.

It's nice that they remembered Rayman exists. While it's not Rayman 4, or even a platformer at all for that matter, at least it's something.
Just one thing, why does he have those damn eyebrows!?

Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
It's a shame that Rayman is a DLC content next to Rabbids. Ubi still have rights, but they are using him in the worst way. Some people would say that they did not forget about him, but for what cost
Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
I have a mixed feeling.
On the one hand, it will be a good excuse for me to play and discover this license ( Mario + Rabbids ) with this second episode ( I missed the first one but ... I DO WHAT I WANT !! )
Yes .. I would clearly prefer to see Rayman in a big 3D game ( Rayman 4 ) than in a DLC adventure . But, isn't it a way for Ubisoft to see if people are still as much fans of Rayman (if the demand is very high) and then negotiate a new episode?
I'm probably dreaming, but why not ~

Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
I see now that this is turning into a debate about new game or dlc
I prefer him just being back chances are that the final boss in the dlc could be a rabbid version of razorbeard mr dark or reflux and in the last dlc there was only 3 other bosses besides the final boss
Re: RAYMAN IS BACK in 3D in new Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC
Personally i see this as testing the waters for a potential Remaster/Remake/New game. After all, Activision did do the same thing with Crash Bandicoot in Skylanders. We just have to let Ubisoft know we want more. Sales matter, Especially if it's Ubisoft.

Well that would make the most sense
