The sad thing is that we’re stuck in that cycle since about 2013...
-"Wow a new port! That’s better than nothing, I guess. Let’s hope that means a new game soon!"
-"Oh, a new mobile game! That’s better than nothing... Let’s hope that means a new console game soon!"
-"Woah a new cameo/crossover! That’s better than nothing! Let’s hope that means a new game soon!"
So, until we get an amazing main sequel which ACTUALLY RELEASES and don’t get stuck in development hell again like BG&E 2 or the
many Rayman 4s, we can never be sure that Rayman has a bright future and that Lazysoft won’t repeat the droughts of the past decades whenever they feel like it doesn’t match their unrealistic sale goals...

You've given words to my unexpressed thoughts. That's exactly what has me so downbeat about this. Is the community so institutionalized at this point that we jump up and down in excitement about Rayman costarring with the Rabbids? When not so long ago the consensus on that concept (seemingly both inside and outside Ubi) was "never again"?
It came to
me in a dream my mind while reminiscing about comments I tend to see under the trailers/announcements for anything Rayman-related nowadays. It’s truly the state of mind we have entered, being so used to the franchise going weak whenever Ubisoft feels like being Ubisoft (I was going to use a swear word instead, but I realised their own name is enough of an insult already nowadays

).
"Never again" was one of the very reasons why Rabbids became their own separate franchise rather than even being a Rayman spin-off, so suddenly going back to this situation but Rayman becomes the "guest/invader" feels unreal in perspective.
We’ll see if it actually works this time around (let’s not forget it’s also Rayman joining with Nintendo’s mascot and the most iconic video game character, after all!)... if Rayman and Rabbids crossovers stop or become very minor after this DLC and both franchises
miraculously remain/become healthy afterwards, I don’t think anyone will mind it ever happened in the end... yes, even me who already whined like a child about it and who talks about these screaming bunnies as if they were the antichrist.

I’m very scared remembering one of their tweets I saw some time ago... It even included the Rabbids in the picture of their NFTrash bullshit... OH...
OH NO... Then that means Rayman is already part of the "meTaVeRsE" now!...

Please, let me have a moment while I vomit my soul.

Time to start preparing the documentary entry…
Oh noes! I don’t want to be remembered as the grumpy boomer of the RPC!

I should
specifically be remembered as that boring plum-obsessed French guy who writes pointless walls of text filled with sarcastic emoticons for absolutely
anything!

Rayman Origins A Rayman-starring "Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope" DLC is announced at the annual
E3 expo Ubisoft Forward.
The first true Rayman game since Rayman 3 in 2003, Origins takes the unprecedented step of weaving together the environments and characters of the previous Rayman games into a cohesive universe. The announcement is celebrated enthusiastically by all members of the forum, with the exception of
Sabertooth1000000000 PluM and Rayman Saturn, who
is are inexplicably bitter and angry at the news.
(Actually the very next entry after the one I just edited is about the introduction of the strike bbcode, appropriately enough!

Also, "cohesive", yeah sure

)
Oh come on, I’m not inexplicably angry... OK, not
that angry! But I’m that angry because of the unacceptable lack of plums in that announcement!
I guess you could add Hunch and OCG, the latter may have not expressed it here
but he sure did on Twitter like me (so I guess I can be mentioned twice, because I’m just
that grumpy

)!
I’m so grumpy and a boomer in fact that I wish I could travel back in time to join Sabertooth in complaining about the very "cohesive" Origins, because I’m really nitpicky about these """UBI ART""" games all these youngsters are playing nowadays!

BACK IN MY DAYS, we had games in 3D, they actually had a story, PLUMS, no mind-numbing creatures and Rayman actually used the powers of his fist.

...Huh?... Why is my hair suddenly turning grey and am I losing my teeth?... WHERE’S THAT WHEELCHAIR COMING FRO-...

Now that's interesting stuff, I must take a closer look later!
Here’s also the translation of the Italian notes I’ve shared on the GBC topic (can’t promise it’s fully accurate because I speak Online Translators, not Italian

):

Cage.
Maybe you could remove a ring and force the player to return when the "helicopter" ability is in possession.

Btw, the "psp" is the extension name of the game’s level editor as he said, Soliani didn’t invent the PlayStation Portable unfortunately.
He even thought of a "Rayman Maker" in another tweet below that one

(
Rayman Designer and ReDesigner: "Are we a joke to you?" ).
To end this silly wall of text on another positive note about the DLC, I must say that I love how the team made the effort of including references to past games,
as they said on Twitter, they put great care into that! Like the iconic background of the original game’s title screen! It seems Rayman is in good hands, at least!
OK, so can you forget about me being a video game boomer now? Please... I swear I’m not that old... :’(
