Yeah absolutely! Its such a big commitment and it takes a looooong time. I've had to really keep myself thinking realistically in terms of scope etc. to get this thing done, while still making what I wanted to make :) Can't wait to share it with everyone!

I think that'd be my main advice for aspiring game devs/fan game devs. Make sure you set reasonable and achievable goals for the project and don't let the scope run away with your imagination because you'll end up with something thats impossibly mountainous to make!

EDIT: It's releasing 15th of September!!! Check out the Final Trailer below :)

I mean the art style doesn't look professional but this game does look like it was well-made. I probably won't be able to download it but I think a good job was done on it. I think it's kind of interesting how you incorporated sound effects from different Rayman games. I hope this goes well for you.

Yeah I absolutely agree with the art style. It's definitely something I've been learning and plan on learning even more in the future! It's funny because as you progress through the game you can see how my art improves as I progressed through the development.

I hope in the future you're able to give the game a try if you want and thank you very much for the kind comments :) I'm really happy with how it's turned out and I find it a lot of fun to play :)

That's fair enough, although the game isn't too long :D I hope you decide to give it a try in the future!!

Awesome! :D You said you would release this year, and you're doing it! I didn't really doubt you, but still, that's a rare enough occurrence in this business, and worthy of congratulations! It looks pretty solid, and I'm looking forward to playing the full version!

Actually, when you said "Repair the boundary" in the trailer, it made me think of breaches of the blood-brain barrier that are being researched in relation to neurodegenerative diseases. Am I reading too much into it? :fou:

Hell yeah! I was worried I might not make it but here we are! Thanks very much, I really hope you enjoy the game when it comes out.

I can't say that the blood brain barriers inspired it :D it's more in relation to the Dreamers Boundary being breached by Nightmares ;) all shall be revealed.

Yo, everyone! Good news!

Rayman: The Dreamer's Boundary is out NOW!!!!!

The full game just released this morning over on GameJolt! https://gamejolt.com/games/dreamersboundary/507525
The original Soundtrack will release next Thursday for free download as well :)

I'm so so proud of this project and I hope that if you decide to play the game and give it a try that you have a great time and see all the love and passion that went into it. I'd love to know what you think as well :)

If you find any bugs please report them to me as well, so I can make the game better post launch.

FInally, I would ask that if you play the game, you keep some of the secrets and surprises from others, or use spoiler coding etc. There's some stuff in the game I think is really cool and I'd hate for those surprises to be ruined for someone who is going to play it.

Now, download and enjoy! It's time to repair the boundary!

EDIT: v1.0.1 is now out also! It fixed a detrimental bug with the Options menu, so I'm glad that's sorted.
v1.0.2 released! Fixes endgame bug.
v1.0.3 released! Fixes some issues with large moving platforms. Small amendment to the credits.

I really like the art for the intro cutscene. I also like the idea of resentful nightmares escaping and dragging the individual who vanished them, to their realm.

Thanks so much, yeah the Nightmares are always going to be spiteful, especially when Polokus is involved!

Hooray! Enjoy.... I actually just uploaded 1.0.4 sorry :D trying to make sure the game is in the best state possible before the weekend :)

It changes some incorrect lum counter bugs and also adds a tiny bit of extra help to the final boss!
