Re: Your introduction to Rayman
You mean the one in the first room?
Re: Your introduction to Rayman
Yes, those can be tricky too. I think the key is that you shouldn't jump into the cages, but simply crash into them (this is a bit counter-intuitive since most lums in that level require jumping to get to). Then you can break the cages on the first lap, and collect the SYLs on the second one, before Sssssam turns toward the end of the section.Hunchman801 wrote: Thu Aug 26, 2021 9:14 am I definitely remember this happening a lot, and on occasion I would also miss some of the Super Yellow Lums in the cages at the end of the Marshes of Awakening.
Re: Your introduction to Rayman
My introduction with the series started on the PlayStation with Rayman 1. I was extremly young i think possibly around 2 or 3 years old and i just loved watching my brother and sisters play it. It looked like a cartoon.
Well one day i figured out how to switch the TV to AV and turn on the PlayStation. I had no idea how to play but i managed to get to the Tarayzan level but when that music hit and the stage started flooding i remember freaking out to the point i was in tears. I was too scared to go near the game for the whole day. The games atmospheric soundtrack was really spooky to me.
We eventually beat Rayman 1 and sometime after i think we got Rayman 2 for PC in a cornflakes box? It definitly came in a cereal box.. Anyway i'd play up to about to where you would free Ly i couldnt play on a Keyboard cus my hands were so small. What i think cemeted me as a Rayman fan was when we rented Rayman Rush from XtraVision i played the hell outta that and i've been getting the games ever since.

That's understandable for such a young child.Jhspecks wrote: Fri Sep 24, 2021 2:26 am My introduction with the series started on the PlayStation with Rayman 1. Imagine how different your experience may have been, if you had been playing the PC version, which does not have that atmospheric soundtrack in Tarayzan's level (because it plays the same track for all levels of a given world, which actually loops most of the themes together one after the other).
Re: Your introduction to Rayman
I first got Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 as my first Rayman game when I was a kid, but I didn't care about Rayman and played as the Rabbids so the first REAL Rayman game I played was the Rayman Legends demo which quickly became one of my favourite Wii U games even if it was a demo.
Now I'm a big fan of the 2D Rayman games having beaten Legends (which is one of my favourite games of all time), Origins and even Rayman 1.

Re: Your introduction to Rayman
Well, this is my story:
The first time that I knew something about Rayman, was when I see the PS1 version of the original Rayman on a game store as preview. but the first time that I played a Rayman game was when, I looking for PC games and I found the PC version of Rayman 2, on the same store visit I see that the N64, PS1, and Dremcast also stay there. but I choose for get the PC version because, the reason for I go to the game store is for the PC version. I like the Rayman 2's atmosphere, art direction and music and of course the excellent gameplay. I know that some parts the game is scare, like the cave of bad dreams or tomb of the ancients, but I never feeling scare, in-fact, I liked the immersion from those levels. generally I like the gameplay mechanics like the Rayman's controller, the combat, etc. time later that I finished Rayman 2, I played Rayman 1. I got the game for PS1 because in my mind say "why not" although I think get the PC like when I got Rayman 2 for PC. I liked the music, the impressive graphics and the gameplay and level design. although the game is really hard. take some mouths but finally I got finished the game. so time later I played Rayman 3 on PC. When I finished it I say "was good, but it's feeling that need something" the gameplay although some mechanics of Rayman 2 looks better but other looks some forced. I am feeling that Rayman 3 lost significantly the Rayman 2's magic. but Rayman 3 is good.

Re: Your introduction to Rayman
My first experiens with Rayman series has began in 2007, when I start play in Rayman M and Rayman 2 in my old PC. That games was in "pirate" CD disks. About that series I remembered in 2011 year, when I firstly played in Rayman Origins, and after - Rayman 3, in 2013 - Rayman Legends.
In 2011 again I also must say about one metion. When I firstly connected to Internet i saw one trailer of Rayman Raving Rabbids, where that game positioned as "Rayman 4" or smth alike that. And because in that years I was green, young and dumb, I thinked then that was a trailer of a exist Rayman 4! Not a Raving Rabbids party game, what we have today!

Re: Your introduction to Rayman
Bump
This was 2015 or 2016 or something, when I went round to my friends and saw his brother play creepy castle on PS3 legends. I found it awesome but forgot about it for some time until I got a copy for Christmas and was very happy, although I couldn’t work out how to beat the first level
then years later I got rayman origins on the Wii and jungle and fiesta on iPad and still begin new rayman journeys to this day!

Re: Your introduction to Rayman
The way I discovered Rayman was when I was a youngling, my dad got Rayman Legends. I played it, beat it, beat it several more times, then occasionally played the daily and weekly challenges for the game for several years. I still occasionally do them to this day.

I personally find the challenges boring, same thing, DC every time. Haven’t done them for years tbh

Re: Your introduction to Rayman
i think it was 2016 or 2017. my older brother brought a ps4 (still dont know where he got it xd) to our house. i only remember two games on there : mortal combat and rayman legends. back then i never knew who rayman was, but when i got my hands on rayman legends i got real obsessed with the game. and then in 2022, i rediscovered the game again and fell down the rayman rabbithole, discovering the older games. thats it, i guess
