I think "Simonhe" is the name of the model and "Simohne" is mentioned as Rayman's fiancée in in the localization file (attached).

Monik is also mentioned as a fairy and someone else's girlfriend and at some point says that she hopes that André is waiting for her somewhere.

It's all so interesting! It makes me sad at the same time, it was so cool! Maybe Andre was in his Red Lums form in this game? Because Monik says she likes lums because they are so cute so it seems more logical... it would have been funny if in the end she saw his black lum form and left

Mae's video fills my heart with longing and regret. Of course we've all known the deal for years, they had the game mostly done and then had to turn around and scrap it for a Wii-oriented party game. But to actually see it there, all seeming to hang together (even if some of it is probably good video splicing), and all to have been just thrown away…

That said, 2006 me would probably have found it all quite overwhelming and frustrating. Only after playing more "grown-up" games does it look so appealing to me!

Fair enough, Betilla was also referred to as simply "fée" in the Rayman 1 code. I guess it means they'd only planned to have one fairy in the story. Which I suppose is for the best, since it wouldn't make sense to have Ly in the game when Rayman has a girlfriend

She looks a bit like a grown-up goth-like version of Zaza. Maybe the experience of the DomZ kidnapping her parents made her vulnerable to his charms

I guess we should make Special Ranks of all these newly-discovered characters! A dark-haired pale-skinned fairy with a name similar to "Monica" might just be my new go-to if I ever win any more contests around here…

I agree! Overall, my feeling is that there's a good reason why the game was canceled, and I'm not sure I would have been a huge fan of it, even while keeping in mind that this prototype was still at a very early stage. There's a few interesting things in it however, and I hope they'll get reused in Rayman 4 if it ever comes out.
