The 0%-100% transparency distances are an engine thing. They're defined per object, and along with all the other object data, buried deep within the .sna files. To increase the draw distances, either those files would have to be modified, or a memory mod would have to be created. It's a lot of work regardless.
I see, that really sounds like a lot of work. I thought that the release of the cpa engine might have made those values easier to find, but I guess things are much more complicated. Thanks for the answer, I'll be happy with with what I have.

They are quite easy to find programmatically, and already were before the engine leak, but we don't have any tools ready to do that. Maybe in the future! :)

Did anyone ever think about how The Marshes of Awakening connect to the Cave of Bad Dreams? Does Jano guard over the nightmares created by Polokus - nightmares that awake into the waking world, if they escape from Jano's cave?

Yes, I have noticed the connection between the names. I kinda thought of it more as pertaining to people like Rayman, who visit the Cave: if they get out then they reawaken in the Marshes.

Perhaps, perhaps. It's an interesting name, at any rate - I have also always found 'Anguish Lagoon' to be an odd name, but that is Rayman 1.

I see that the soundtrack of Rayman 2 Forever is not present on RayTunes. An entire playthrough can be found here, for those curious as to the soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP33--CTlao

This was new for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJQcHip4tDE

There exists a connection between The Fairy Glade and The Echoing Caves in the Hall of Doors.
And there exists a hidden spiral portal behind The Woods of Light (i.e. it would no longer be the first level, when viewed as a sequence) in the Hall of Doors.

Yep, I've seen that one before! I even hacked the Echoing Caves one into my own game once. It's a bit glitchy, sometimes Rayman falls below the map when he's running towards the Caves…

That connection between The Fairy Glade and The Echoing Caves makes so much sense. The levels are really close to one another in The Hall of Doors, and there exists a connection within the levels. It would have also provided a useful shortcut when traveling between the early and the late levels.

It is disappointing they decided to remove it in the final version, and I can't understand why. Maybe they ran out of time trying to fix the glitch you mentioned?

I have a question. I have a sd card whit rayman 2. After installing it in my pc i copy the save files of slot one that i have in my sd card to the slot 1 in my computer.
When i chose the saved game it says: the game doesn't be saved in the disc. Why that happen?

Although I don't remember the details, I do recall that Rayman 2's save game structure is not absolutely straightforward. If you just copy a slot - it will most likely not see it, or see it wrong. There is that 'HiddenSlot' there and it has to be copied as well, I think.

My favourite version is the pc. You can put mods in the game to play in HD in widescreen. But the only version that i complete is the gbc version

I remember very well that in pirated copy of Rayman 2 The Great Escape I had Robo-Pirate Skull logo icon symbol placeholder during boss fight with fourth guardian automatically.

I haven't played as much Rayman lately, but a few months back I was playing the N64 version of Rayman 2 for a while. I still can't get used to how weird the soundtrack is on N64 in comparison. :oops2:

I beat Rayman DS, Rayman Revolution, Rayman 2 N64 and Rayman 2 on gameboy colour... Which Rayman 2 port should I beat next?

Go with the Dreamcast port and then if you want the PC version so you can see the differences between these ports :)

I recommend the PlayStation version as well, some content was cut but it also comes with good additions.

Nice to see I’m not the only one who thinks the PS1 version has a charm of its own!

Indeed! Revolution has interesting additions too, but most of them only make the game worse.

All of them except Grolem 13. His music is cool, even though his appearance is basically Axel with MPEG2 compression artifacts on top of it.

Hi friends,

Forgive me if this is not the right place for this. But does anyone know if the retail disc can still be played on modern systems? Tried many of the tools here on the forum - tried both the x64 patcher and Rayman Control Panel and the game refuses to launch. I'm on Windows 11 - wanted to play the PC version to take advantage of the widescreen patch posted here and better graphics. Can I still use patches like that from here with the GOG version? Any help / advice is appreciated.
