Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
The Reveal and the Mecha Factory?
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
No, sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant to give you the point anyway, but if you had posted the French (I assume) title, it would have been more "proper", I guess?
The levels are indeed "The Reveal" and "Get Away!" which follows it immediately.
Another minor peculiarity is that when you play the game, it will take you from The Reveal to Get Away! and then directly to Shoot for the Stars, without going back to the world map first. But, later, you can visit each of these levels directly from the map.

Question 12: And as long as we are on the subject of The Reveal: that level has an empty medallion, no lum target score and no lums to collect. However, it is still possible to earn some lums in this level (although they don't count for anything). How?
We have a contestant that reached 5 points, so I think it's time for a bonus question.
Bonus Question 1: In Rayman Legends, the 8-bit music levels have visual distortion effects to make them more difficult. Describe the dominant effect of each level, and name two effects exclusive to the 8-bit Edition of Grannies World Tour.

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
No idea about question 12, but I think I can remember bonus question 1 as I played those levels a couple of weeks ago... I guess that bonus question should be answered by the person who also answers question 12, right?
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Actually, no. Anyone can answer the bonus question. Answers to bonus questions do not count towards the total score but are counted separately and earn a special prize of tings at the end of the season.
So if you think you know the answer, feel free to try.

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Okay, here I go...
And now I'll try to answer question 12 trying to use the logics (a bit hard specially when you haven't played Rayman Origins lol). I was close the previous time I used the logics, hopefully I'm right this time
. No lums, no target score... I'd say there aren't any cages in this level as it would be a very easy way to answer the question and fail, so here's the final answer... There is some kind of enemy which is "hidden" or really hard to hit, so unless you're clearly aware of this enemy you're going to miss it and finish the level with 0 lums.
- Castle Rock - Most of the time you play with that fisheye lens.
- Orchestral Chaos - There's some kind of an old TV effect.
- Mariachis - There's a clear pixelation here.
- Gloo - Again, you have that fisheye lens again.
- Dragon Slayer - Again, the level is pixelated.
- Grannies - There isn't a main effect as it's a kind of a mix (fisheye lens + old TV effect + pixelation) of everything we can see in the previous levels + the new features, which are the multiscreen (both at the very first and finishing the level) and the inverted screen (top-down, not left-right).
And now I'll try to answer question 12 trying to use the logics (a bit hard specially when you haven't played Rayman Origins lol). I was close the previous time I used the logics, hopefully I'm right this time
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Your bonus question answer is completely accurate as far as I see.
For the main question - I'm looking for a somewhat precise answer, which, I agree, is hard to give/guess unless you've played the game. Strange that you've played Legends but not Origins!

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
I haven't played Origins in ages, and I'm pretty sure I never did it, but... Thinking along the same lines as Dave (and I did think it before I saw his answer!), I'm thinking maybe if you're quick you can knock down a Robot just before it's supposed to get killed by Mecha Carnivora?

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Rayman Legends was available for PS Plus at some point (mid 2018 or something like that), that's why I own that game and not Rayman Origins.

Question 13: List the three ways in which Foutch attacks Rayman during their battle in Rayman 2.
PluMGMK got 2 points in a row and should skip this question.
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
I know he shoots horizontal waves of fire on the ground, and vertical pillars of fire. He also spins when a stalactite falls on him, and I've never gotten close enough to see if that damages Rayman, but I'll guess that's an attack as well.
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
It does, and he will do it if you get too close to him, regardless of stalactites, I believe.lumgum wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 10:38 pm I know he shoots horizontal waves of fire on the ground, and vertical pillars of fire. I believe there were flying rings, some bouncy spring-like creatures and the infamous, sanity-draining yellow rings?

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Ah, fangame questions eh?
Well, the yellow rings weren't pink helpers in any sense of those two words!
I can't remember if they had proper names, but the answer is the flying rings, climbable strings of alternating yellow/pink spheres, and bouncy springs.

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
That is correct. The crazy yellow rings are indeed separate. They are released by the Monk at Gong Heights. I wonder how he maintained his sanity using them over the years. Although, TBH, I've become not bad at them myself.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 2:19 pm I can't remember if they had proper names, but the answer is the flying rings, climbable strings of alternating yellow/pink spheres, and bouncy springs.

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
He turned the Griskin tribe into ghosts, accounting for their eerie high-pitched voices (at least in the French version) and ability to fly. Depending on the source, he also imprisoned them in the Spirit Tower, although that's clearly not true since most of the Griskins you encounter are outside the Tower
(Maybe they intended to say he buried their bodies under it, which would make more sense…)
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
That's correct. This question has been asked many times before, but usually in the opposite direction (who turned the Griskins into ghosts).
And on the subject of the Griskins, I'd like to try this as a bonus question:
Bonus Question 2: The area where the Griskins live in Rayman 3 is referred to as "Land of the Livid Dead", which is an obvious joke, since the area itself is peaceful as are the Griskins themselves. However, specifically in the English language, the name actually makes some sense, in a strange, and, likely, unintended way. Could you explain?

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Well, for the bonus question, you mentioned before that the word "livid" can also mean bright white, which, being ghosts, the Griskins all are. I hadn't actually realized that before then. If indeed it was intentional then it's a way better joke than the likes of "Lividstone" in Origins…

Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
The first princesses (Barbara and Elysa) are rescued in Teensies in Trouble (this is the world) with Murfy's help. Really lucky again as I've played it recently lol.
Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Livid color is indeed what I had in mind. Although, the dictionary entry mentions bluish as the more common meaning. Whether the Griskins are bluish or pale white is often a matter of lighting. I always held the first option in mind, but I have no idea what was intended by the developers, or whether there was any intent at all to hint at color. I would say there wasn't, since the pun does not seem to hold in French or in any other language Rayman 3 was released in, AFAIK.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:03 pm Well, for the bonus question, you mentioned before that the word "livid" can also mean bright white, which, being ghosts, the Griskins all are. Since you definitely guessed the direction, and since "deathly pale" is recognized as one of the possible meanings of livid, you get the bonus point.
Elysia, but you are obviously correct, and the princess name was not part of the question anyway.DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 11:26 pm The first princesses (Barbara and Elysa) are rescued in Teensies in Trouble (this is the world) with Murfy's help. Re: TTQ: Season 133 – dr_st
Maybe because they share some attack patterns? Even though the first one doesn't throw Rayman stuff, they both can sting the same way, for example.
