It's allowed to generate images of copyrighted characters now? Sounds like we haven't heard the last of it...

So much creepypasta material, yet no one left to write them nowadays.

Re: Rayman himself
I just gave it a try:
Title: The Haunting Melody of Rayman
Once upon a time, in the depths of an old, forgotten arcade, there existed a peculiar arcade cabinet that housed a haunting secret. Its faded exterior displayed the familiar face of Rayman, the beloved hero of countless gaming adventures. However, this particular machine held a dark and sinister energy, something far beyond what any player could imagine.
Legend has it that the game had been abandoned by its previous owner due to a series of inexplicable and unsettling events. Tales whispered in gaming circles spoke of eerie occurrences that accompanied anyone brave enough to play the game. The arcade cabinet was said to be cursed, forever imbued with a malevolent force that fed off the souls of unsuspecting gamers.
One stormy night, a curious arcade enthusiast named Alex stumbled upon this fabled machine while exploring an abandoned arcade. Intrigued by the mystery that surrounded it, he decided to take a chance and play the cursed Rayman game.
As Alex pressed the start button, the screen flickered to life, revealing a corrupted version of the familiar Rayman world. The colors were muted, the atmosphere bleak, and the whimsical soundtrack replaced by a melancholic, distorted melody that sent shivers down his spine.
Unbeknownst to Alex, the cursed game had awoken an ancient evil. As he guided Rayman through the levels, he noticed strange glitches and disturbing alterations in the game's environment. The once-jovial characters were replaced by grotesque abominations, their expressions twisted into malevolent grins. The peaceful landscapes had turned into nightmarish, labyrinthine nightmares, with haunting echoes resonating through the empty voids.
But the worst was yet to come.
As Alex delved deeper into the cursed game, he began to feel a presence watching him, an unseen malevolence lingering in the shadows. It whispered in his ears, distorted voices murmuring dark secrets and incomprehensible whispers. The haunting melody grew louder and more dissonant, gnawing at his sanity, as if trying to lure him deeper into its clutches.
Each passing level brought forth new terrors. Distorted and mutilated versions of Rayman's friends and foes alike haunted him relentlessly. They pursued him with an insatiable hunger, their once-friendly faces twisted into grotesque masks of malice.
Desperation took hold of Alex as he fought to escape the cursed game's clutches. But no matter how many times he attempted to quit, the game refused to release him from its grasp. The distorted melody continued to reverberate through his mind, tormenting him day and night, seeping into his dreams and turning them into waking nightmares.
As his grip on reality weakened, Alex knew he had to find a way to break free from the cursed game's influence. With trembling hands and a flicker of determination, he embarked on a final, perilous journey, hoping to uncover the truth and put an end to the torment that had consumed his life.
The cursed Rayman game had claimed its fair share of victims, trapping them in its digital purgatory, forever lost in its twisted, nightmarish realm. The legend persists, a warning to all those who dare to unlock its secrets. The melody of the cursed game continues to echo through time, a haunting reminder that some realms are better left unexplored.
Beware the haunted melody of Rayman, for once it ensnares you, there may be no escape.

I found it quite similar to that Ben Drowned creepypasta which was popular a decade ago. ChatGPT learns pretty fast indeed.

What ChatGPT did was great, but I'm somewhat unsatisfied, I think I'm going to try to write my own creepypasta (or at least a small synopsis of it, that could be expanded by other people or AI).

Re: Rayman himself
There's just something about Rayman that keeps drawing me back in. I don't have many (childhood) characters I have that with -- Sonic's aight but nah; Mario I will always have some interest in but no '''real''' emotion (the movie was cool though!!), with execption of Partners in Time for what I hope are obvious reasons; Master Chief's a bad-ass and Cortana and the Arbiter and some other characters make me wanna play/explore more about the franchise but I literally stopped playing the games so it mustn't be all that serious........ but Rayman, ahhh, Rayman......
I often have friends remark how my D&D worlds are kinda "Raymanian" -- I guess I never got it truly out of my system hehe

Re: Rayman himself
Now that I can understand. Been into Rayman since I was like 8 when I first played Rayman Advance. After finishing Rayman 3 at 12 I kind of forgot about Rayman for awhile and shifted towards my other childhood favorites, like Mario and Pokemon. Back in 2012 when I started Uni, watching Haruka's walkthrough videos reignited my interest in Rayman again (I guess I can say me mimicking her back then was because I looked up to her). And then in 2018 when I joined hearing Steo talk about how much he liked Origins inspired me to play through Origins (and later Legends) for the first time. And then we had the Sparks of Hope DLC, which made me become more active here again. i really like that there's always something that will help me remember my loves for my favorite video game franchises, which ofc includes Rayman.

Re: Rayman himself
I know exactly what you mean. I first got into Rayman during the early 2000s when Hoodlum Havoc came out on GameCube, and I remember the excitement I felt when watching the original trailer for the cancelled Rayman 4 on Wii. I've never disliked the Rabbids, but I soon found myself focusing on other video games. I didn't think about the franchise for a good seven or eight years after that until I heard great things about Legends, which I got it on sale back in 2014. Went back and experienced the older games -- including the ones I'd never played as a kid -- and I've stuck around since. I'm also far more invested in the Rabbids now thanks to the excellent crossovers with the Mario franchise. The Jonster wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 9:53 pm Now that I can understand. I recently left other sites such as Reddit due to finding myself dissatisfied with the constant censorship, political discourse and general smugness of the userbase, so I was ecstatic to find gentler forums such as this one still alive and kicking. I wish I had joined up much sooner.

Re: Rayman himself
I somehow feel identified with your philosophy... Since I played Rayman 2 for the first time I've always been struck to everything that involved the saga. Obviously, there have been times when I didn't play Rayman as much as I did when I was younger, but, as it's said, the goat goes to the mountain and I have always been aware about the saga, either curious about its lore, watching some fangame that caught my attention or playing (even if it was a little while) any of the games. The lack of content also doesn't help to have debates or conversations as fluid as there might be in other communities, but it's always nice to chat about one of my favorite sagas
Re: Rayman himself
I think Betilla is his mom & the Magician is his dad, & here is why;
1. His hair is strawberry blonde which as far as I know is more of Ginger quality. It has been pretty obvious especially in Rayman 3 Onwards. Guess who has ginger hair, guess who has blonde hair, & guess who have the same alignment. 2. His Snoutridge is very similar if not the same as The OG Magician (but to be fair, the 1st game sort of suffers from same face syndrome but that’s a nitpick). But Rayman kept that nose shape while other characters didn’t.
3. The eye color matches between Him & Betilla. (We don’t know about the Magician’s eyes but I imagine they’re also brown.)
4. The Magician always seems to keep an eye on him, which we see as his narrator role.
5. Betilla is literally shown making him in a trailer for Rayman origins, so I presume that fact is still true to some extant, making her his mother, now who’s the only Man associated with the Fae council that we know of (besides Murphy who doesn’t have any Amaru/thingamajig traits)? That’s right, the real magician!
6. The way they talk about him is quite indicative or a parent. The only thing that would make it even more convincing is if they called him “son” directly to us, but I think they wanna hide for some reason. Maybe it’s keep things professional? Either that or to hide it from those with nasty motives. At least if my hypothesis/head canon were to be confirmed by Soliani or Ancel.
7. The “evil” doubles whom are often treated by the fandom & perhaps even in canon as the sons of Mr.Dark are there as a foil for Rayman Right? Now what would parallel a limbless naredowell with an overbearing controlling father dark mage father? A busy but otherwise supportive if a tad passive light mage father. & who fits that description the most? That’s right
The Original Real Magician (who’s first name has been revealed to be Pierre according to English with Rayman, which I take as the canonical version of the 2 linguistic edutainment games due to the fact Rayman is a French franchise.)
But hey that is just a head-canon, A RAYMAN HEAD-CANON! THANKS FOR READING!

Re: Rayman himself
I suppose that's the problem with those generalist websites, where you're kinda forced to read about people's political opinions all day even if all you really care about is discussing video games or other specific topics. On Twitter specifically, the fact that people are limited to 280 characters, as well as the very low barrier to entry, means that almost every politically charged comment there is profoundly inept.PuzPot1390 wrote: Mon Sep 25, 2023 7:27 pm I recently left other sites such as Reddit due to finding myself dissatisfied with the constant censorship, political discourse and general smugness of the userbase, so I was ecstatic to find gentler forums such as this one still alive and kicking. There's a topic about politics here, but you don't have to read it if you don't want to, and anyway it's much more rational and much less passionate than what you can come across on social networks.
Anyway, welcome to this place! And I should probably get back on topic now.
