I don't remember either, I just remember a black screen coming up at certain level transitions asking me to switch from CD2 to CD3 or vice versa. Probably related to those DRM checksum files they loved so much...
Interesting, it may be just that.
Now that I think of it - I don't believe I ever played Rayman 3 without a crack, so that can explain why I never encountered these prompts.
Thanks Fifo. In general, any image link should be assumed vulnerable to link rot, unless it begins with "https://raymanpc.com" or similar. Although I tend to break that rule with Dilbert and xkcd links, since I know they're probably not going anywhere!
For the 20th anniversary of this game, I made a retrospective about Rayman 3. Maybe its good game, but due to the games direction I guess that the game would be better. the gameplay has better features than Rayman 2 but another isn't. for example the jump physics are slow, the slide controllers where Rayman can't do nothing, the plum it's more useless, and the frustrating crazy shoe. the puzzles mixing platforming it's feeling forced, such as many parts of the longest shortcut. many features of the game that looks some useless to be added like the murfy escape intro, the snowboard, and dive that only appear one time in all the game. the score system proposes are some unnecessarily, the score actual propose it's for contests at the time when the game was released. the reason someone that play like got hi score it's for looking how hi can be and get five stars. but excluding this, the score system no have big impact in the game or a 100% completion in the game unlike others Rayman games that the 100% in the it's more satisfactory. and the minigames are boring using the same things that are used in the main game. with the time that the team were made those minigames would be polish the main game finish levels and other content that was scrapped or shorter in the final. The game focus to the humor with early 2000's humor with voice acting in-game it's annoying, for this I preferred the random noises from Rayman 2 or others Rayman games.
Although this good things that I will considered good are the combat it's solid and more fun than Rayman 2 including many tweaks from that game feeling more smooth. the combat fatigues are fun though would be used better. the graphics are good though the game use the same engine that Rayman 2. the soundtrack it's good though some music are weird for a Rayman game for use rapping like music.
Generally good game but I guess that would be better.
The platforming isn't so great, but combat is a great improvement over Rayman 2. I guess it makes sense, since the game gives it a much more prominent role.
Exactly! That's also when I noticed how simple things such as the ledge grabbing mechanic were just not so great in that game. But still, I feel it plays very well overall.
