Re: why is flaming teensy evil in mini
Rayman Mini lazily reuses a lot of content from the previous games, so the most likely answer is simply that the developers couldn't be bothered to come up with a new antagonist and thought this character would be a good choice.

Ubisoft really went “let’s make this teensy going through puberty a villain because he’s red”

Maybe it's linked to him joining the chilli pepper gang?

Re: Why is flaming teensy evil in mini?
You don't get it, he's the *FLAMING* Teensy, so that means he was super duper evil all along and worthy of being a main villain! We definitely didn't run out of budget or creativity to make a proper bad guy with any actual motivation.
Honestly, what makes it worse is that it's the best they could come up with for the original game... but then they added freaking Mr Dark later with the coolest new design in the whole franchise, and they couldn't even bother to make him into an actual boss or any sort of antagonist behind the scenes. Ubisoft moment.
So basically, according to Mini: that random skin made for Rayman Origins? More powerful and far more evil than Mr Dark!... What a timeline we live in.

Also, an evil teensy that appears as the antagonist in a game with some form of reference to Mr Dark? Hmm, I wonder where I have seen that before... Hm, I wonder if there isn't another character we could have recycled too for this exact purpose...

Why do you think Electoons are themed around him?
Flaming Teensy’s lore
Yeah, I know. I talk about this guy WAY too much! But I am very curious about him. I mean, what did he look like before he got tortured by the chili peppers? Does he have trauma after that, if so, why does he adore it? Also, why did he become a playable character if he is a NPC? And why did he become evil in Mini? I have so many questions!
Maybe because in Origins, in order to go in the Tricky Treasure levels, he’s like “GIMME YOUR ELECTOONS!!!1!1!1” (imma make a seperate thread about this)
Re: Flaming Teensy’s lore

I have merged both topics together, no need for a separate one.

Re: If Flaming Teensy is a NPC, HOW IS HE A PLAYABLE CHARACTER!?
Well, same question could be asked about the dozens of evil doppelgangers in many games or the series, or for Dark Rayman in Rayman Redemption.
Although the latter made it way more logical by changing Dark Rayman's appearance whenever you use the same skin.
But the serious answer would be it's just for fun/gameplay reasons like in many other video games and it's not canon that he can be a hero in Mini (I think the skin was even added through a update). Same could be said about seeing the same character twice in Origins too, unless there could be indeed more than one Teensy of that type as PluM said.
But hey, they could do something like what Redemption did to fix such an "inconsistency"... Like making Mr Dark the actual final boss! Come on, Lazysoft!!
Btw, I think this topic should be merged with the other one on Flaming Teensy, so it's like a general topic about the character. That's kind of redundant to have so many different ones IMO.
