Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Yeah, I think it has to be a power of two unfortunately…
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Believe me or not, but the game with 02 changed to 10 instead of 08 works (I restarted PC, don't know what happened), but it still lags with QHD video played. So we're rather stack to 2048x2048 limit I guess, since the same happens when there is no third step applied for 1/2048 scale factor at all, and then video becomes even smaller, but it still lags. So we're stuck. Even setting 09 value is pointless since the game drops to 44 FPS and we need it to play 60 FPS video.
But thanks for fast reply!
edit. I managed to run FHD/60FPS video using 09 value, but only DXVK provided 60FPS during playing video. Without it, there was 44 FPS.
But it's not enough for QHD, and further increasing the value caused FPS drops.

This makes the game look so gorgeous! Amazing work! Though I have the issue that the pre-rendered cutscenes don't work. The audio plays, but the videos themselves are just black screens. Is there a way to fix this?
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
When getting a powerup, Rayman’s hair doesn’t go to his normal yellow, the menu screen is also block, even though the textures have been synchronized. Is there a way to fix this?
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
You mean black menu texture?
Known issue. It was associated with specific texture and existed in specific screen resolutions. What is yours?
Here's the fix

Screen resolution is 800x600x32, I always go into full screen.
I checked the gimp folder and saw the Heavy Metal Fist wasn't in there. I edited the other four to have the orinal hair/face textures. I'm keeping the O on his shirt as the powerup colors. Did I do good editing these?
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
As for the Helicopter, do I delete the powerup Helicopter textures or replace them?
Wait, huh? I did a fresh replacement of Gamedata.bin and replaced the Combat Fatigues with the edited ones, (they were pngs because GIMP won't allow me to save them as gf) And the edits are still they're orignal textures. Also I don't know why the edits aren't showing previews in the archive folder.

Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Not sure, but maybe use texture sync. IRC, it was necessary every time when certain texture changed its resolution in the archive (although lack of it was usually crashing the game).
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
I did use texture sync actually. XD And it’s still being rather stubborn.
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Sorry for posting here as a newbie, I'm wondering to know how can I download this into my pc or do I have to purchase a dedicated server to play this on PC? thanks for your replies in advance.

Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Does this work with the Uplay/Ubisoft Connect Version?
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Shouldn't be any problem.

Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
When I play this game in widescreen 2560x1440, the menus are zoomed in, and the FMVs are playing with sound but no video. I changed my computer's refresh rate from 164Hz to 60 to try and fix it, but nothing was fixed. What do I do?
Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Am attempting an RTX Remix fan remaster of R3 and am hoping to incorporate these textures into it since that lets you manually reassign textures and even generate/add roughness and normal textures for more detail and depth. Any way I can rip the texture files from the CNT files in either PNG or DDS format?
EDIT: Found the control panel's Archive Explorer after seeing it above and found it can rip and convert to PNG. Is it okay if I use this so long as I give credit and a link to this topic?

Hi, could you tell us if you managed to run R3 with RTX remix without crashes? I'm interested in using it with R3 myself but I couldn't get it working so farBehon wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 12:03 am Am attempting an RTX Remix fan remaster of R3 and am hoping to incorporate these textures into it since that lets you manually reassign textures and even generate/add roughness and normal textures for more detail and depth. Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Thanks for this awesome mod! Rayman 3 is now just as beautiful as I remebered it to be <3
The some issues I've found
* on the water level, when Rayman is just swimming on the top of the water, charging his attack, the splash of the water is just a bunch of white blocks
* on the Longest Shortcut, during the shoe-dodgem, Rayman's texture became very overexposed, bright.
Don't know if any of this came from the vanilla.

Re: NEW RELEASE! - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD for PC v2.1
Hi there. Yes, both problems are in the vanilla R3, although the second one is only in the PC version, and it happens every time Rayman shrinks in his shoe (the other shoe isn't affected by the overbrightness, at least after the animation ends).
In any case, the overbrightness problem is fixable with dgVoodoo. Follow the intructions given in this post: viewtopic.php?p=1451524#p1451524 and it will work, but I have to give you a few very important notes:
1: You only have to select the DirectX tab in dgVoodoo for Rayman 3, since it relies only on DirectX, therefore ignore the General and Glide tabs.
2: Default settings are fine but I suggest turning off dgVoodoo Watermark.
3: Remember to check the path of the files that you're editing the settings of before applying them; you have to grab the files from the dgVoodoo folder that you have selected and that you can view in the top bar, to be sure that the settings did apply correctly before putting the listed files in the game folder.
4: You have to disable Hardware Vertex Processing only when you're using the dgVoodoo files in conjuction with BR3, as if it left enabled, it will decrease the performances significatly. The same happens when the option is disabled but without the dgVoodoo files in the game folder, so be aware of that.
5: It is not necessary to disable Trilinear Mipmapping, as it will not impact on the performances in any way, but rather, it will make the floor which is not in the nearby distance to be rendered with less precise mipamapping, which is exactly what the option fixes, so do not diable that.
That's it; the problem should be fixed now if you did everything correctly.
As for the white blocks when Rayman is swimming on the surface, yeah, that's a problem of texture usage. Tbh I don't even know if that's a texture or not, because I tried editing multiple flat white textures for my texture pack but didn't fix the problem, so perhaps they must be hardcoded white blocks that the devs used as placeholder and never replaced in the final game, or maybe they are indeed a texture and it's possible to fix that.
If you want to give it a try, use Rayman Control Panel, open the texture archives in the game and look for flat white textures, then replace them with whatever image you like to use by clicking on the texture and selecting Import (do not click on Replace if it's a png; it will cause tremendous problems). Then click on Synchronize, play the game and see if it worked.
I hope I was helpful to you. Feel free to tell me if you managed to fix your problems or not.

It can be reused from the Hakyra's tex mod here too.
