Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
I really don’t know why you’d want to spend more time than you needed there tho…

Well, for example, so that you could think of questions for the quiz, or be able to answer them.Greengoop wrote: Sat Aug 12, 2023 5:25 pm I really don’t know why you’d want to spend more time than you needed there tho…
But seriously, sometimes it's nice to just relax, slow down the pace of the game, and take in the environment. Think about it - someone worked meticulously to add all these little details. We should appreciate them at least once in a while.
Good attempt, but indeed this is not what I meant. When I say "this aspect" - I mean one thing in which it can be either as R2 or R3, not two different things as you mentioned.lyndo64 wrote: Sat Aug 12, 2023 3:34 pm The game has some Rayman 2 sound effects, and you can switch to the Rayman 3 costumes.
Hopefully this clarifies the matter for others who wondered.
Question 15: Rayman Redemption is a remake of Rayman 1, but in this aspect it is actually like Rayman 2, with an option to make it like Rayman 3. Explain.

Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
Is it the helicopter power? Instead of having a limited duration like Rayman 1, it can go as long as you want. You can set the button to toggle it like Rayman 2, or to keep it going as long as it's held, like Rayman 3.

The familiars being rescued instead of lums
You only being able to play the level once
The teensy king taking you to the hubword instead of the hall of doors

Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
Well... I was kind of hoping for something more convincing.
Only being able to play the level once is indeed a major thing. That's 1/3.
Familiars being rescued instead of lums (actually there is only one familiar) is true, but is not specific to Woods of Light. Let's say 0.5/3.
The Teensy King dialogue is indeed different, but, again, it is more due to the overall changes in Revolution, not specific to Woods of Light. Also 0.5/3.
Therefore, I would appreciate at least one additional unique feature.
Question is still open to anyone, and Greengoop may amend his answer as well.

Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
I'll give this a shot and say this:
1. You only play the level once.
2. The stone bridge and waterfall are missing.
3. You can only punch, and the magic fist is given by a silver lum at the end of the stage.

Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
I'll give the point to Greengoop. Although the silver lum at the end is something I consider major, he did answer faster, mentioning more than three legitimate differences, and even his first answer can be considered technically valid.

Question 18: In Rayman Jungle Run, the fourth world (Punch) indeed has many wooden doors that you should punch, and some that you should not. Which visual cue generally distinguishes the two kinds?
Bonus Question 2: Published early design concepts of the "El Stomacho" boss fight in Rayman Origins showcase some ideas that did not make it into the final version. Mention at least one such idea (please provide a reference as well).

I think one door has a sign featuring a darktoon with an x mark over it, and the other has nothing on it.

For the bonus question, a piece of artwork in the RO artbook, (which I got off Ebay if you were wondering
), shows Rayman jumping on the boss's stomach, and throws up a thingy (antitoon perhaps?) from his mouth.

I think I understand what you're referring to, but that is not what I had in mind. That seemed to me as merely general concept art; recall that the boss battle with El Stomacho actually takes place inside him.lyndo64 wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 12:36 am For the bonus question, a piece of artwork in the RO artbook, (which I got off Ebay if you were wondering), shows Rayman jumping on the boss's stomach, and throws up a thingy (antitoon perhaps?) from his mouth.
You may try again (and again) - the Bonus questions stand until a satisfactory answer is given (or the season is over).

Re: TTQ: Season 135 – dr_st
Welp, I try this again, also in the artbook, there are quite a few concepts that show Rayman going into it's heart and trying to destroy it.The Jonster wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 10:39 pm

Gonna take a wild guess here (and I’ll probably be wrong), but I’ll say switch knives, forks, and the chocolate obstacles that have spikes on them?dr_st wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 9:48 pm Question 19: List all types of prickly objects that appear in the Cake world of Rayman 1 (Jaguar), but not in Rayman 1 (PC/PlayStation/Saturn).

I'll accept that!lyndo64 wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 10:43 pm Welp, I try this again, also in the artbook, there are quite a few concepts that show Rayman going into it's heart and trying to destroy it.
Some of these concepts showed a follow-up where destroying the heart would spawn a flame chasing the heroes in a random direction through the gastric maze. Other concepts showed a possibility of the heroes emerging through the rectum, either intentionally or as a failing scenario.
This is actually incredibly close, except I am not sure I know what you mean by "chocolate obstacles that have spikes on them". Could you explain / mention where you find those? The Jonster wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 11:27 pm Gonna take a wild guess here (and I’ll probably be wrong), but I’ll say switch knives, forks, and the chocolate obstacles that have spikes on them?

Can I answer? I’ll just say they look like chocolate rolls with a white beak thing?

Nope, that's not what I meant. But it's hard for me to describe what it looks like so I'll just picture it here. The obstacles are on these chocolate platforms and look like this:
