Adventure Time

Post by Elite Piranha »

General topic to talk about anything related to Adventure Time.

I was very excited when I saw the last trailer for Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake, it seems the series will also involve other timelines and feature other characters aside from the genderbend versions.

I’m really surprised it took this long for an adventure time topic to be made! I’ve never seen this “fionna and cake” thing but it certainly looks like it could be a good watch :mryellow:

There are episodes from the main AT series centered about Fionna and Cake, so I guess you could watch those before watching this new series .

I may also re-watch some episodes and watch some YouTube videos about the series' lore, that way I can avoid being confused when watching this new series.

I finally watched the Fionna and Cake series. I find it interesting that Prismo's boss is still unseen, I wonder when we are going to see this character.

It's a double edged sword I fear, it reminds me of how we ended up getting the never-ending chain of command in Dragon Ball going from Kami, the Kai's, then the Supreme Kais, then the Destroyers, and then Zemos.

I wonder sometimes if it's best to leave some things unseen, but despite my misgivings, I don't think I'd be too fussed if they did go into that direction. I'm just keen to see more FIonna and Cake, I really enjoyed what they did.

I didn't know about this thread, but my brother used to watch Adventure Time when it aired. I wasn't big into it at the time and preferred Regular Show, but myself and my girlfriend had been watching episodes of it together while just sitting on the sofa in the evenings, and it's much better than I gave it credit for at the time. As weird as some things may seem, the plots are always good.

It's true, I think it is better if some aspects remain unseen, that way people can always theorize and have their own interpretations and crazy ideas to fill the voids. About the Fionna and Cake series (spoilers ahead):

- I was surprised to see how they showed the deaths of certain characters (Martin, the Winter King, the creatures that adult Finn killed, etc.), specially if you consider how the show started.
- What the Winter King did to remain "sane", was very messed up.
- I like the future where people rebel against Gibbon, I wish I could see more of him.
- I kind of share that sentiment of missing the Ice King and his funny antics, the show really feels different without him.

Oh I'm excited for this, my memory is a bit fuzzy on Season 1, but is this the first time Fionna meets the OG Finn? It'll be interesting to see how that pans out given Fionna's only ever existed as fanfic to Finn, if he's not met her yet.

Bumping, it looks like the Season has started, the intro seems to imply Huntress Wizard's going to be heavily involved in this season:
