I'm more inclined to agree with what Saturn said, I think it's time to give Ubiart games a long time coming break. Sorry to you guys who like Ubiart but I think Legends is trash compared to every other mainline game and it's overrated. I did like Origins though, I'll give you that. But then they had to copy the same formula multiple times starting with Legends and it got old and stale for me realllllll fast. If there was ever a new game coming out for Rayman (which I have -14% hope for), I hope it will steer away from this Ubiart trend.

Yeah, as much as I loved Legends for the super smooth gameplay and some other things like the amazing visuals, it felt kinda old by the end of it after already playing Origins.
IMO, the original games managed to hit that right balance between doing new things while staying true to their roots (even if Rayman 2 was nearly a soft reboot on so many regards, but you could say it had the excuse of being the first 3D take after all).
For example, I love how Rayman 3 managed to bring the Telescopic Fist into the 3D formula and have so many references to its predecessors despite being way less of a platformer and focusing on action (mainly combat) with a brand new score system that ended up adding so much challenge and replayability. It felt like a proper continuity while doing its own thing at the same time.

In all honesty, even if I don't think they really belong in the Rayman franchise, I guess I wouldn't mind a third mainline entry in the UbiArt style as long as we get some actually new/different games inbetween. That way everyone would be happy.
...Well, not absolutely everyone as you can never please everybody, but you get the idea.

Btw, I read what you guys wrote before and it was a very interesting debate. Not gonna expand myself too much, I'll say that I have a similar opinion to Saturn and Jonster, but I understand that some people may like UbiArt games more than the original trilogy (people may have their reasons; the gameplay is very fluid, the scenarios are very beautiful and greatly designed and it's a very good platform game). In the end it's good to have a variety of different opinions, that's the point on sharing ideas and that doesn't mean to have an argument

I’m so thankful someone else thinks the exact same way as I do when it comes to the Ubiart games. The lack of story is abysmal and it just never felt like Rayman to me. I can’t believe the entirety of Legends has things like throwing Ales Mansay and his clones onto a butt-stabbing moon and guacamole coming out of Murfy’s fingers

I'm sure we're not the only ones! The gameplay is great, however, but I agree that without any focus on the lore, it doesn't really feel like Rayman.

Let's hope this won't be the case for the DLC, but since it doesn't appear to take place in Rayman's universe, I'm a little bit worried for now!

Absolutely! Rayman is wonderful for its gameplay, but I think most of the older fans are drawn to it for the captivating world and storytelling.

As a fan of Ubiart I have the impression that have just taken my love for Rayman to spit on him, crush him and throw him in the trash, I hoped that on the Pirate Community the Fans of the original Trilogy would be nicer with the Ubiart players...

I remember seeing people post this ALL THE TIME (I even remember seeing an X account labelling the amount of days the sexbomb video would play til Rayman gets to smash) and it always bugged me, almost as much as Globox Moment did because in my opinion I never found either funny and were more cringey to me tbh.

Yeah I feel like I’m having a bit more mercy on the trilogy, I really like origins and jungle run but don’t care about legends and the other Ubiart games. But I also like rayman 1, unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy rayman 2 and the rayman 3 emulator I used a few times wasn’t very good

I do have a PC but it’s very slow and clunky, so I just play it online on my iPad. I seriously wish they didn’t close down the eshop because I could’ve gotten it there
