Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
Well Said, the first step is probably to finish the trilogy! And then from there you can look at and read the Ray Wiki to fill in the blanks (:

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I'm with Mawpaw, it's a good idea to play the trilogy first, and then check RayWiki for more information! What order you complete the games in shouldn't matter, personally I finished both R2 and R3 before finishing Rayman Advance (which is the first version of R1 I played)
Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
well its not a bad idea,but i already finished the trilogy,even rayman 1 even tho i hated that lol,should i play more tho?The Jonster wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 5:48 pm I'm with Mawpaw, it's a good idea to play the trilogy first, and then check RayWiki for more information! Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
Can't hurt to replay them all to solidify your memories
I barely remembered anything after the first time I played Legends
(though in fairness it was just before a particularly stressful time in my life, and after another not-quite-so-stressful one!)

Clearly I did not read this enough, I meant it would be a good idea to replay them like Plum said!

You seem to remember the princesses very well though!PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 12:02 am Can't hurt to replay them all to solidify your memoriesI barely remembered anything after the first time I played Legends

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I'm talking about when I first played in June 2014. The next month was a complete rollercoaster for me, and afterwards I only remembered the main plot beats (such as they were
) and forgot all the beautiful details of the worlds. After a few months I rediscovered the princesses via replaying the Invasions and doing Challenges, and then in January 2015 I replayed it in full and finally did the game justice in my mind

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I wish I was good at remembering the more intricate details of the trilogy. I remembered a lot of things from my plays of them but after doing dr_st's quiz last week or so ago there were things I didn't even know about, so I'm going to play the games again soon.

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I remember writing a full walkthrough of the PC version of Rayman 2 by hand, in pencil, when I was otherwise unoccupied at school. (During the same period I sat beside the guy who was introduced to the series by Rayman DS
)

Wow! You must have had a lot of time to do that then
Imagine if you had helped the 3 of us (me, Steo, Fifo) with the Revolution guide long ago!

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
Well, I've never played Revolution (just watched a walkthrough many years ago) so I wouldn't have been much help

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
Oh I see. That's understandable then. If there's something I have trouble remembering it's anything from Origins and Legends due to not playing them enough. At least they will be easier for me to remap keys than the other games.

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
In fairness it can be hard to remember Origins and Legends since the gameplay encourages you to just speed past all the beautiful details (or maybe that's just my style of play
)

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
That's true, I pretty much did that both times in fact.
I do remember Origins than I do Legends however since the former felt more newer to me.

Origins is great, I've been meaning to play it again for way too long now! The last time I played through it may have been 2018!

Actually that year is when I first played it and I haven't played since! I'm glad Steo influenced me to play the game though!

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
We should all arrange to replay it at the same time in the near future then!
(Kinda like when a bunch of people on the old Steam Forums [unfortunately since erased from existence by Valve
] all replayed Half-Life 2 at the same time back in 2013
)

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
This reminds me of when I played Rayman DS for the first time ages and then R4Y decides to play the original game himself and time against me. Good times!

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I have a similar feeling... I can remember almost everything from the original trilogy, but it's very difficult for me to remember something from Rayman Legends. I guess it is because of the "lack" of story mode (?)PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 1:03 am In fairness it can be hard to remember Origins and Legends since the gameplay encourages you to just speed past all the beautiful details (or maybe that's just my style of play)

Re: Trouble remembering rayman games
I think so. The levels try to tell stories by their backgrounds and what's going on, but you really have to pay attention, and if you blink you'll miss it and before you know it you're onto the next world. Rinse and repeat
