It does feel like a little Rayman celebration, doesn't it? :mryellow:

I've never 100% RA, I've 100% the PS1 tho. I wished they based it of the PS1 version rather than the MSDOS version, which has msuch more cryptic cage locations :mefiant:

Oh, RA is easier than PS1 R1, surely you'll do well there too! :)

I'm currently not able to really do much Rayman related since I'm 1700 km from my house , but oh well I can talk here at least. Technically I can, but it's not really feasible.

Well, I'm been itching to smash some faces with Kirby since I sit right next to the 64 in our room...and I left a run of Vectorman unfinished on the Genesis next to it...Not really sure what Rayman game to play. I need to check if my Raving Rabbids data carried from my computer move, but I wouldn't mind trying to get Arena running on here. My new computer's made for gaming, after all! :mryellow:

I'll check my Rabbids data first. If it poofed I've got work to do! Then Smash 64, see if I can get Arena running, and finally Vectorman.

That’s alright! Hanging out here has been really fun for me so you’ll probably have a good time too. :hap:

I appreciate your taste in older games and consoles! Those are usually the games I go for as well. :hap: Are you going to do Arena online?

I have a Genesis too, literally imported one because the Mega Drive being too slow annoyed me. I modified one to play at NTSC speeds, but it was still slightly too slow because of the timing crystal, not enough to feel it in frame time, (59.3Hz instead of 59.9), but the sound was lower pitched, roughly 20 cents flatter. This annoyed me beyond belief, because I'm so fussy with music. A lot of songs on the Mega Drive also sound out of sync because they attempt to speed fix them, but they only play notes per frame so making a song play at the same tempo but 10fps less most likely will never sync perfectly. Well, rant over. I love the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, but it makes most sense to have a Genesis for the games designed for NTSC.

I live in the States, so don't have a PAL Mega Drive, but I know the games run slower.
Off-topic, but have you ever played Ristar before?

Yes and I love it. It's literally one of my favourite games on the platform outside Streets of Rage. Also yeah I had to import the Genesis to Ireland. PAL was a curse for Retro gaming.

That game's soundtrack is soo good. I remember the first time I got to the final boss, I triggered a softlock and I was forced to restart :grrr:. I ended up beating the game the next day tho :D

To add to that, not only were the framerates worse, PAL territories were just screwed completely by not only having games released for it later, sometimes even years, they could just not be released in PAL altogether. For example, the Persona games were not only really hard to come by on PAL, they also didn't have any language options, so you had to know english to understand anything.

On to 8 AM and still going strong! 11 AM to 12 PM are usually the most rough for me, though. I'll be sure to stay up!
