Pokemon is weird. Some of it is really good and some of it is just... uninspired. For me gen 5 is the best gen but gen 4 is really close in second. But looking at gen 9 just makes me think "oh no". It's going in a really bad direction right now, and I don't know if it can be stopped.

Totally agreed, I kinda miss Pokémon when it felt like Pokémon

Ehhh, I doubt it will be. What I can say is Gen 9 is better than Gen 8, which sucked ass.

I don't really think of remakes when I think of Pokemon gens. Those are just gen 4 remakes.

They were actually pretty solid games imo, I can see why people wouldn’t like them but I have fun memories of playing them

The remakes? I wouldn't know, I don't have those games. Sword and Shield, were just too easy for me. I liked Scarlet and Violet more. Though normally I wouldn't have gotten these games since I'm more of a Mystery Dungeon fan than a mainstream and haven't played since Gen 3, but both Shield and Violet were given to me so...lucky me.

I think I’m blinded by the happy memories I had playing sword and shield after getting it for Christmas 2019, I’m sure if I replayed it I wouldn’t find it as good

I think that's how I e perienced it, I played the first and liked it, the second time I played I realized it was way too easy.

I remember hearing my friend beat the whole game in 1 day. He expected me to be impressed but I really wasn’t surprised it was so easy

Also may I ask did you play sword or shield? I played the former

I mean if I hadn't spent time looking for everything I probably would've finished in 6-8 hours.

Does anyone also think that gen 2 is really overrated? I mean Heart Gold and Soul Silver are probably the best remakes, but gen 2 itself is just sorely lacking in my eyes. The gyms are wack, level curve is wack, kanto is just padding for the sake of it being there, the new pokemon are weak as hell, and the pokemon placement is also wack. Like misdreavous, the only gen 2 ghost type, only appears in Mount Silver, which is not Johto and the last area of the game. Also JUST GIVE IT TO MORTY INSTEAD OF ONLY THE GENGAR LINE, WHYYYY!

Hmm, makes me wonder which games you have played?

And also, uh, Mount Silver is technically in Johto just a really secluded area, what you talking about? :fou:

There can’t be that much content in the game

I did the postgame stuff but there’s really not much else to the game. Did you get the DLC as well?

Yea I did just to check it out, but it wasn't too special either. Now the DLC for Scarlet and Violet, I'm more enthusiastic about.
