Yes, pretty sure R2 and R3 are both mappable. If I was stuck on defaults I couldn't progress in either games since I have one broken button.lyndo64 wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:46 am You can remap the controls in R1 at least, I'm not sure about R2 tho. I just use a Xbox controller hooked up to my pc for controls.

Re: Rayman 2
What do you think the best control layout is then? I’ve found a good one for R1 but not sure about R2

I dunno for R2, it just automapped it for my Xbox controller.

Re: Rayman 2
I would not know since I've always used the default controls and only needed to remap once. Probably gonna need to do it again for this laptop but...

Re: Rayman 2
I prefer console controls and I think almost anyone can agree, I’m fine with keys but I’m really slow with them and I hate it when I accidentally press the windows button…
Re: Rayman 2
The PC version of Rayman 2 does not let you remap controls. Some 3rd party wrappers do.lyndo64 wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:46 am You can remap the controls in R1 at least, I'm not sure about R2 tho. I just use a Xbox controller hooked up to my pc for controls.
I don't think they existed back when I played the game originally, so I got used to playing with the arrow keys (normally I prefer the keypad) and A,LCtrl,Space for jump, strafe, fire, respectively. Honestly, it is quite a comfortable setup - just feels weird to start. I even did my first playthrough of Rayman 3 with the same exact setup (but that is partially because it was on a crappy laptop keyboard which didn't even have a keypad).
Yes, accidentally hitting the Windows button is annoying as heck. Many gaming keyboards offer a hardware button to turn it off. And there is software that does the same. WinKill is what I use (not to be confused with WinKiller - the ransomware)Greengoop wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 8:17 am I prefer console controls and I think almost anyone can agree, I’m fine with keys but I’m really slow with them and I hate it when I accidentally press the windows button…

I’ve just got a basic keyboard, but you wouldn’t know how many times I hit it playing R1 before changing my controls

I feel like if I played R1 with a keyboard, it would be unuseable by space mama lol

Hah. I've broken my share of cheap keyboards n my younger days. Now I mostly can keep my anger in check.lyndo64 wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 8:57 am I feel like if I played R1 with a keyboard, it would be unuseable by space mama lol

Re: Rayman 2
I haven’t had a mental breakdown over rayman yet, but that’ll probably change soon
One of the angriest moments was when I beat a level after 2 hours and went into band land, got stuck and knew I’d lost all that progress because I forgot to save
