Rayman looks like he wants to, um... love everything he sees.

Yeah, I used to think he was happy to see the Nymphs when he rescued them, but then I realized that he just had the same expression he always has in the game!

It just doesn’t feel raymanian to me, rayman is supposed to be this goofy and crazy character but R2 tries to be serious

Yes indeed, l'Histoire de Rayman explains that this was because they were working on Tonic Trouble at the same time and wanted to differentiate the two projects with a difference in tone, even if it was uncharacteristic for Rayman. The thing is though, this "serious" incarnation of Rayman is the one that many fans fell in love with…

I think it took me until Redemption to figure out that you can punch them...

Oh wow! I only sometimes have enough courage to attempt to punch them, but I do sometimes succeed

Redemption mr dark is like that as well, but I kinda like him getting away because it’s kinda cool how a guy showed up, wreaked havoc and disappeared

But then that's the case for most Rayman villains, isn't it? The Glade's criminal justice system seems to be seriously lacking, but then recidivism doesn't seem to be a problem. Who knows, maybe there are trials and convictions after each game, they just don't show them because they'd be boring!

TDF and Band are the only ones I can say for, both sucked ass which was kinda a problem

I mean, it's technically not unpopular when it's often considered better than Origins and most new fans seem to consider it the best from what I've witnessed. And there's nothing wrong with that!
That and the fact that games like Rayman Rush or Rayman 2 Forever on the Game Boy exist

Come on, you can't deny it was an amazing idea to feature Crabs and Zombie Chickens as the average enemy and to have the same generic Henchmen as the first boss and final boss instead of Razorbeard.
