i have played both origins and legends, the latter i played it 4 times to get a feel of what i actively despised about this game.

and overtime i found more and more things that i disliked about it:

it's a game that promotes gatcha like stuff and mobile game mechanics like daily bonuses (the creatures giving you lums everyday), the wishy washy story and the shameless reusal of assets from origins are not the only things that make me actively dislike legends as a "work of art"

the deeper you look into it the more it falls apart like dust, the worlds are even copy pasted from origins!



in origins you have: Jibberish Jungle, Desert of Dijiridoos, Gourmand Land, Sea of Serendipity and Mystical Pique

this means: a nature themed first world, a flight based world with instruments, a food themed world, an underwater world and a mountain world


in legends you have the same stuff but with a different coat of paint! there's teensies in trouble, toad story, fiesta de los muertos, 1000 lums under the sea and olympus maximus

meaning, again: a nature themed first world, a flight based world with instruments, a food themed world, an underwater world and a mountain world

so basically it's like when mario goes "forest, desert, snow, volcano, underwater and clouds"

it's so STUPID and they thought people didn't realize

And the epic music !?
and the beautiful graphism !?
and the legendary Boss battle !?
and the diversity of the backgrounds !?
and the Kung Foot !?
and the gameplay !?
and the Art ! This game exudes ART it's in the name: "UbiART"

Can the 3d of Rayman 2 compete with that !? :

yeah actually, rayman 2 has an epic story with worldwide consequences about the world being slowly driven to starvation, the main villain is known across the galaxy as a cruel tyrant that vaporizes planets after draining them of their natural resources, with an entirely orchestrated soundtrack that features motifs that reoccur throughout the whole game, a really slick 3d gameplay that only lacked in the combat but made up for it in fluidity and responsiveness, all tied together with a final showdown against a powerful madman piloting a huge meck inside the motor of the ship that's used to enslave the world


even rayman 3 ends with a fallen champion driven mad by the loss to rayman, fueled by the twisted powers of a dark god, making him unable to think rationally as he transports rayman and globox into an alternate dimension so he can consume everything in it's sight



legends has a big luchador man and a big bat made of fuzzy balls, wow how fun

your response sounds fueled by your emotions, discarding any criticism as "muh muh thing sucks lol" really speaks volumes at your inability to judge things without your personal bias getting in the way


plus kung foot is a terrible mode and it sucks

Sorry but Kung Foot is very fun with many, so it may be because you play it alone...

i played it with friends and it's fun for about 20 seconds then it gets old

Kind of in a way. According to l'Histoire de Rayman, the project they started with for Rayman 3 was apparently so overly mature and serious even compared to Rayman 2 that they ended up realizing they should go for a more whimsical approach (coming up with the funny name "André" for the main villain was even part of the main ideas that led to this change if I remember correctly).
So they probably took a bit more notes from the original as it would be fitting and would bridge the trilogy efficiently, as it's especially visible through the many references in the game (like the Manual's icon or 2D Madness and Nightmare and some easter eggs) and the fact they brought back the Grimace and the Telescopic Fist as actual mechanics.

It's good to have debates, but I think we shouldn't make this into a unhealthy competition of opinions, as here your last remark is even massively disperecting the incredible work that went into Rayman 2, a game with impressive visuals for its time which was highly praised for it back then just like Origins and Legends are very impressive for their era.
If it wouldn't be for that game and its direct predecessor and successor, none of the UbiArt games you love would even exist as most of their elements originate from that game (Teensies, Lums, etc.).

We each have our point of views and we enjoy different things for different reasons and it's perfectly fine if you love the UbiArt games and can't enjoy some of the other games as much. We don't need to try to change people's minds to enjoy our favourite games.
I get your will to defend the games when people don't enjoy them as much or even hate them, I even used to be overreactive in that regard that when I was younger, but a response like this one won't lead to healthy conversations, especially when you're not using proper argumentation to respond to someone's critical perspective. Anyone could answer nearly the same things for the older games:
The great music?
The beautiful graphics and expressive animations?
The amazing boss battles?
The bonus levels in/the minigames in Rayman 2 or 3?
The great gameplay?
The colourful and unique artstyle?
I did just as much here by thinking of any game from the trilogy or even most handheld adaptations, but that doesn't make a compelling argument in their favour. It doesn't detail/explain WHY any of those features are good or bad. It's just listing things at a basic level.
I personally would gladly hear proper criticism you could make out of the older titles and more developped arguments on the UbiArt entries, even if it's exclusively positive for them.

I recall that Geiger is well known for disliking Legends. I think you are taking this personally rather than being calm and acknowledging that he just doesn't like the game. Not everyone's gonna like Legends, I mean I've said already that I didn't like it as much as the other games. Accept it and move on.

Yeah it's understandable that there should be a reason as to why they think it "stinks", but they are still allowed to dislike it overall. They're not criticising others for liking it by saying that it stinks, so you have to also remember not to take it personally if someone has an opinion like that. It's another story if they try tell you that you are X and Y for liking it though.
