I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say Matyuv hasn't run it for years, at least since he quit the mod team

Definitely the positives are better than the negatives. There've been quite a few negatives but infinitely more positives. Like you, R4Y, Plum, Aaron.....like honestly I'm really glad to be friends with you and everyone else I've met.Steo wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:37 amI didn't realise you thought this, but it's flattering that you do.The Jonster wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:43 amThis still surprises me. You, arrogant?PluMGMK wrote: Fri Jul 08, 2022 11:27 pm I'm scared to check, the arrogance in my first few posts is cringeworthy
The first person from here I met was probably Adsolution actually, except I met her on Betilla's Gardens before we both came here!
Anyways the first person I met was definitely Steo, although I still remember his old username back when I first met him. One of the nicest guys I met and probably one of the biggest influences towards my growth of character here on the internet.![]()
I believe the first person I can remember to ever respond to me was Plum. That's going off memory at least. I do know that Jonster is someone I had a lot of talks with over the years, also really nice and friendly, and we used to both be two very hyperactive posters on here back when we first joined. I met a lot of cool people in the Rayman community (many who inspired me), and I believe the positives outweigh the negatives by far when it comes to the people I have met.![]()
Speaking of which, wonder where Aaron is? I kinda feel he would usually come around late at this time.
Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Yeah and I met Hoodoo in the community too. Who would expect to get a girlfriend in the Rayman community. The Jonster wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 6:54 pm Definitely the positives are better than the negatives. Also yeah I haven't seen Aaron around.

Pretty sure Adsolution was the first person I met here too, seeing as this video was my introduction to Rayman PC

Oh my gosh I remember seeing this video some time ago and thinking "what's with the spelling"
But very informative of how things work here regardless.

OK, another thing I probably don't remember, but will have to watch as soon as this is all over!

Another idea as a video presentation would be a notepad writing whatever you want very slow and playing Evanescence - Bring me to life. Old traditions were the best idk why aren't we doing this anymore.Ambidextroid wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 7:05 pm Pretty sure Adsolution was the first person I met here too, seeing as this video was my introduction to Rayman PC

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Maybe because ever-shortening attention spans mean people would prefer to just read text on a webpage?DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 9:03 pmAnother idea as a video presentation would be a notepad writing whatever you want very slow and playing Evanescence - Bring me to life. Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Ngl, I'd prefer reading a text rather than watching a video where the person spends more time deleting the message and rewriting it than explaining the topic

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Yeah, I generally prefer text to videos. I don't want to put my headphones on just to learn something simple!
Re: Who was the first person you met here?
I prefer text also literally. My course has boring videos a lot and I just wish it had text instead.

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Reminds me of a first year physics module back in college, where there was an extra recorded lecture put out every weekend, but I'd say the vast majority of us just read the notes! Truth be told, I feel kinda bad saying it now, cause those guys probably had better things to do with an hour of their time than record a lecture for first years, but they still did it!

I’ve never heard of a video like that, are they common? The Jonster wrote: Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:58 pmLol, there are actually learning videos of people doing that?DaveRattlehead wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 10:23 pm Ngl, I'd prefer reading a text rather than watching a video where the person spends more time deleting the message and rewriting it than explaining the topic![]()

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Like a lot of things, they were probably a lot more common ten years ago!
Then there was that person who uploaded a four-part video showing all their failed attempts at the 2D Rayman 2 prototype level from the PS version

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Were they deliberately failing or actually trying to win?

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
I think they were trying to win, just not very good at it! Or maybe the recording software / emulation was slowing the game down and throwing them off (assuming it wasn't a real console + tuner card, I don't remember
)

Re: Who was the first person you met here?
Was it a montage or their live try every time?
