That’d be very good idea, for now we have to decide which one is the real most useless

Anyway, I don't think any of them are useless. The more smilies you have, the more contours of emotion you can express! :hap: If anything we need more, since I don't think we have an adequate equivalent for the "worried", "thinking" or "doh" emojis :mefiant:
Some Rayman-centric ones would be pretty cool! Some faces made in Rayman 1 come to mind :D

Yeah, it's actually strange that this place has been around 20 years and never actually had a smiley based on a Rayman sprite! :o Whereas, on the other end, BG&EMyth for example has Jade's hair added to all the standard smileys!

Think something can be done about it, Plum?

I don't think so, it's needed to alternate with :noel: during convos. :P Perhaps Saturn can explain more eloquently :oops2:

Boon is one of the funniest faces I’ve ever seen. I have to remind myself to not use it all the time just so it’s more impactful when it is used hahaha

Um….pretty sure that kind of post is also discouraged? So…. :oops2:
Ambidextroid wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 9:13 pm I can't imagine what emotion or meaning this one conveys though, and why it doesn't have any other directional counterparts:
That’s a good question, why isn’t there a left pointing arrow? Anyways I assume it’s supposed to point to something but I’m pretty sure there’s a combination of keys out there that can do that too, so I don’t see any use for it along with the exclamation and question mark smilies. Unless they’re purely for cosmetic purposes!

As a wise man once said, "The boon smiley is meant to express consternation over a particularly appalling remark or message, when contradicting it would be no more than a statement of the obvious and therefore a loss of time for the author and the reader." I don't know if the above post qualifies though :mefiant:

It doesn't, and therefore future posts of such nature will likely result in being regarded as "redundant filler posts" that warrant a deduction of 10 Tings. :mefiant:

Both are wrong: the boon smiley is for top tier boons only :boon:

Yeah, " :chinois: " and " :mickey: " are probably the least useful as of now in my opinion, even when I manage to use them, it almost feels forced to give them a bit of use... Really too situational, like talking about Disney or something.
Also, I'm not using the " :shoote: " anymore :hap:

Someone called me? :fou:
Personally, as I did feel it was a bit useless/redundant, I chose to interpret it as a literally dark/shadowy version of the noel one, as if your face is darkened under some shadow to add an extra layer of scared/disgusted/disappointed feel to your noel smiley, like some awkward smile... Don't know if my dumb and tired French brain is explaining it well right now. :oops2:
...Also, more variety when you've spammed the :noel: :hap: smileys like I did for over 6 years. :noelnoir:

All of this aside, I feel like some new smileys would be very welcome in the future! Not even just Rayman-themed ones, but maybe something like an applauding smiley, a scared smiley (more subtle than the shocked ones), and obviously a shrugging smiley ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In present day, I’d say the most useless smileys are still the classic :shoote: :chinois: :mickey:
