Good thing you found it! That’s usually quite hard to accomplish

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Sometime around the early 2000s. Although I seem to have been mislead by a fake title.
Here's one that's real.

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
$25 would be around $34 nowadays. Prices were similar here.
As an unpopular opinion, I will say that Rayman Revolution isn't really such a bad version. If they had done the open world right, surely many people would consider it the best version.

If players had an attention span of >1 minute then it’d probably be the most loved version

I've never played Revolution, but I do think I would enjoy it, as I do like hub worlds.DaveRattlehead wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 8:51 pm $25 would be around $34 nowadays. Prices were similar here.

I definitely would enjoy playing Revolution! Certainly much more than any of the handheld versions.

See that's probably why you're still stuck on Bongo Hills!Greengoop wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 9:03 pm If players had an attention span of >1 minute then it’d probably be the most loved version

I'm pretty sure most fans could agree on this, me includedMaster wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 7:28 pm Tho I wonder how unpopular the sentiment I have in saying that I find Origins a more satisfying game in general would be? Also I never did like the medieval fantasy angle that the series took from Legends, give me the old school occulty mysticism any day over the tired old knights and swords schtick.

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Actually, just because of that is the reason I would like to see Rayman 4 in a hub world (and, of course, because I enjoy open world videogames). The series deserve a redemption after what they did therelyndo64 wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 9:31 pmI've never played Revolution, but I do think I would enjoy it, as I do like hub worlds.DaveRattlehead wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 8:51 pm $25 would be around $34 nowadays. It's an interesting version. Not my favourite one as I think the Hall of Doors is way more iconic, but you should give it a try if you have time for it.The Jonster wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 9:32 pm I definitely would enjoy playing Revolution! Certainly much more than any of the handheld versions.
I somehow agree with both of you, but the reality is that I don't feel that attached to the ambience from these games...
Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Revolution has some interesting content, like the Foutch bonus game.

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
It is a parody of the song "Antisocial" by Trust, but it's technically an original song called "Mecapiston", seemingly just different enough to work around the fact that they couldn't get a licence for the originalMaster wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 7:42 pm I'm not 100% on the one from Olympus Maximus tho, the wiki should probs have answers on that.

I don't really like how the music levels use licenced songs, but I can see how someone would like that.

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
I think parody makes the most sense for Mecapiston since aside from the beginning being slightly similar there is almost nothing (to me anyway) that makes me think of the song being parodied, So I guess we can say that we have 1 song that is completely original to Legends, 1 song that remixes an original song from Origins, 1 song which parodies a popular song, and the remaining 3 songs are short covers/samples of other popular songs. My favorite out of these is still Gloo Gloo though.PluMGMK wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:24 pmIt is a parody of the song "Antisocial" by Trust, but it's technically an original song called "Mecapiston", seemingly just different enough to work around the fact that they couldn't get a licence for the originalMaster wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 7:42 pm I'm not 100% on the one from Olympus Maximus tho, the wiki should probs have answers on that.![]()

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
I think the reason people hate it so much is the way the content is presented, in an unenjoyable waydr_st wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:08 pm Revolution has some interesting content, like the Foutch bonus game.
I don’t have a problem with it, but I prefer being big raylyndo64 wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2023 11:02 pm I don't really like how the music levels use licenced songs, but I can see how someone would like that.
Unpopular opinion: The shinking ability in Origins sucks
Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
I hope you mean shrinking ability and not shlicking ability...
When shrunk, the game mechanics behave differently. Characters can launch up and sidewise in the air to reach what you wouldn't think would be reachable. It certainly takes time getting used to.

Shlicking ability
make sure to watch your spelling in words like shrinking lyndo
I think he actually said shinking ability

Don’t forget the walking on rails, which was actually quite usefuldr_st wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 8:16 amI hope you mean shrinking ability and not shlicking ability...

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
But of course, he obviously said shinking, his post is like, a few posts above ours. Mistakes happen sometimes.
Again, I see your opinion is based off your trend towards fast-paced linear games, which is fine, you do you, though I wouldn’t recommend having that kind of mindset for playing R1 if you’re playing it for the first time (which iirc you were lol) Makes me wonder why you don’t like the original R2 anymore though……?Greengoop wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 6:43 am I think the reason people hate it so much is the way the content is presented, in an unenjoyable way

Re: Unpopular opinions on Rayman
Oh funny you say that, because I’m playing r1 right now and just beat Bongo!
Yeah R2 used to be my favourite, but I just don’t like the general tone of the game
