Actually this is a great idea, heehee, maybe we should bring this up with Hunch next time.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 7:31 pm We could also have Record Day on April 1st! Whenever we have a good theme it usually boosts the activity anyway!

Funnily enough, there have been some cases of people meeting through here and becoming romantically involved, at least for a while…Rayman Saturn wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 7:38 pm For an entire day, the RPC would be repurposed into a dating app for Rabbids.
It's been a while since we've had a really compelling theme for April 1st…Rayman Saturn wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 7:38 pmJokes aside, that could indeed be a good idea to boost activity! We just have to pick a theme and then the right day!![]()

Do levels count? The dark areas in sea of serendipity used to scare me when I was younger

Yeah, sure, you can talk about levels too!
The Tomb of Ancients was a really creepy level. I woudn't say it scared me when I was younger, but I think that was the very first time I didn't feel "comfortable" playing the game!

Re: Which Rayman character scares you?
I didn’t find the Knaaren scary so much as cool when I was young, but I did find the claustrophobic situations Hoodlum Havoc put you in whilst being chased by them rather panic-inducing.
The pressure I felt when blitzing it down a narrow corridor after distracting one of them with a gong, knowing full well that there was no room for Rayman to slip past should it return before I made it through was terrifying. Also, the dramatic shift in tone and music when you encounter the Knaaren for the first time still stands out to me after all these years. There was always an underlying bizarre creepiness about Hoodlum Havoc, but it immediately became apparent that the game wanted you to pay attention as these new adversaries were far more dangerous than anything else you had encountered thus far.
I distinctly remember the Zombie Chicken theme from the same level also catching me off guard the first time I heard it.

Re: Which Rayman character scares you?
I wouldn’t say I was completely scared by the tomb of the ancients, but that menacing aura for real
Never played R3, or at least up to that point, so I wouldn’t completely understand yours puzpot
Also I feel like it’s usually the atmosphere outside the game that makes it scary. Imagine yourself late at night, probably only 8 or 9 years of age, playing through origins with your friend, when suddenly you see a dark stage with creepy music that your dumbass brain assumes to be some coded message. I wouldn’t say it was downright scary, but it was menacing for real

There has to be somebody that’s scared of The First King. I’m not, but I find the Zombie Chickens more terrifying than anything.

Re: Which Rayman character scares you?
Nah wait a minute

Played him in what? Legends? Nah they just use the regular teensy noises there
Re: Which Rayman character scares you?
I mean, that’s how my kinemortophobic origins would come if I didn’t knew Rayman that much.Greengoop wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2023 5:00 pm Played him in what? Legends? Nah they just use the regular teensy noises there![]()

What stage are you referring to? I didn't find any part of Origins scary at all.Greengoop wrote: Wed Sep 20, 2023 7:43 am Also I feel like it’s usually the atmosphere outside the game that makes it scary. This would be a great time for you to try out R3 then wouldn't it?Greengoop wrote: Wed Sep 20, 2023 7:43 am Never played R3, or at least up to that point, so I wouldn’t completely understand yours puzpot

I think that as far as the original games go, Zombie Chickens are the worst.

But remember you were probably in your 20s when you played for the first time, and I was only 8/9 and also was playing late at night with volume upThe Jonster wrote: Tue Sep 26, 2023 8:38 am What stage are you referring to? I didn't find any part of Origins scary at all.

I guess I was… 16 when I first played Origins. Those dark levels in the Sea of Serendipity gave me the heebie-jeebies for sure…

Re: Which Rayman character scares you?
Agreed, when I was finished I was too afraid to play them again
This’ll sound stupid, but when I first played I was afraid of the forks in the first level in gourmand land
