Alright, to take a further dive's into the game's development, now here's a summarised list of what Ryemanni found in his old school book of concept arts, just in case you don't have the time to watch his video! Tho, it's still better to speed through it if you want the visuals at least.
So, here are most of the interesting things 12/13-year-old Ryemanni had drawn:
Basic drawings:
-Rayman, Bad Rayman, and a Robot Rayman!
-Gigantic nose creature. Yeah.
-"Classic" and "Modern" Bad/Dark Rayman (Modern had the X on the torso and
claws... seems like Ubisoft stole this kid's idea for Mini Mr Dark's redesign

).
-"Elemental" Fists (Golden, Water, Fire, Plum, Slime).
Now I want a Rayman with a Plum Fist! I wanna! I wanna!
Maps:
-A world map of the game's geography with a cancelled Water Fort, a blue water equivalent of Fiery Fort where Betilla was held captive. Also features "Sea", "Plains" before Techno Towers... "Cal" "Bridge" "Ral" (?) areas before Almost Space, and a funny cat creature's face next to a "limited bonus" or whatever...
-Between the Desert of Despair and the Brutal Burialground, you could go to Rayman 1's valley (for the small bonus levels which were planned back then). It may explain why the final desert features some classic entities from Rayman 1 and why the Brutal Burialground's boss could have had some "ties" to Mr Dark...
-More of the map with "Plains" after "Fridge of Rock/Freezy Freezer" and located right before "Ancient Rocks" (which Ryemanni assumes to be related to Rayman GBC) which itself preceded Heart of the Storm. Then, there's the Great Protoon's Terror, "Cave" and finally "Stronghold of the Dark/Dark Stronghold". Some "Revenge of the Dark" inspiration for that name, heh?
Entities:
-Drawings of the world's entities. Savage Minion was indeed called "Arcane Minion" back then, and a later drawing seems to explain that as magic is coming from his hands.
-Among cancelled enemies, the desert had a "Sand Mole", a Hunter inside a cactus (shooting the hammer-bullets through a hole) and a Mr Mummy boss waking up from a coffin.
-Brutal Burialground could have had more ghosts (including one eating Rayman's Fist) and "Zombie Livingstones". The Reaper would have had a different fight, and he had some "mysterious connections to the late Mr Dark"...
-Almost Space could have had "Little Alien", "Space Man", "Alien Prince" and "Space Daddy"... Is he Space Mama's husband? He even has a moustache!

-Freezy Freezer was intended to have "Stone Necks" and "Stone Platforms" enemies. Boss would have been "Stone Maggot" which can throw Lava Balls and with the battle taking place on top of his body.
-The abandoned Ancient Rocks were meant to have "Small Rocks" walking towards you when you don't look and who can only be attacked with... a charged fist, probably. Also a massive "Epic Big Ancient Rock Golem" with many phases and... what must be his face similar to a mushroom (or Mr Stone?...). Every part could have had a weak spot, and apparently he was so big you would only see his toes.
-Walking Lightning Bolts had eyes and arms in most of the drawings. Techno Towers also had "Hard Workers" similar to Livingstones, "Electric Traps" shooting bolts and... a sausage gun!?

-As for Heart of the Storm/Dark Storm, it had the same bolts with the extra visual features, "Zappy Zip" (a creature of electricity wielding a trident/fork) and an unfinished robot (probably boss, or something unrelated).
-Original enemies were planned for Fiery Fort: "Misty" (a sort of flaming golem monster), "Fire Snot" (shoots fireballs, probably through its big snout).
-A "Plant Thing" carnivorous plant was drawn for "The Great Protoon's Terror". Dark Rayman was indeed meant to be a foe here, in this corrupted area where nothing remains...
More entities and extras:
-Drawings of some cool possibly unrelated robots, including one called "Klunk" (Ratchet & Clank, anyone?

).
-Unrelated random things like "Face Attack" with some enormous noses.
-A early picture of Pascal inside a big robot holding Rayman and with an arm instead of a head. Interestingly, Pascal's smiling expression and glasses didn't return in the final game
but did so in a recent art by Ryemanni... As for the rest of "Beyond Technology/Secret Lab", you can see... "Robololl-8" maybe, which is a mechanical arm. There's also a robot head, a weird Rayman with an inflated head, and a depiction of Professor Pascal with a cybernetic hand and the mad scientist goggles.
-Some monstrous faces with the Minions' typical dark veins, a sort of star/virus thing, and Dark Magician who appear to create a -slimy- Magic Minion.
-More designs for the Magic entities (including the cancelled ones). A Magic Minion is seen wearing armour. A shielded Minion is wearing a curved blade and there's a "Dark Enzyme" slime creature. Magic Minions were meant to wear more and more equipment through the game's progression, being fully armoured and wielding spiky swords at the end (the final ones could have been called "Arachdroid" so they were probably robot versions).
-A small fuzzy creature with big horns or bat-like ears. Seen in various drawings, but nobody knows anything about it, even Ryemanni... Maybe intended for Ancient Rocks or something I guess.
-Some animal-like robots, including a kind of dinosaur with sharp teeth (including two saber teeth) and a spider. Also a "Joust" humanoid robot or knight. Probably all planned for the space world... or maybe not. Also a weird huge head and a lightning bolt with a helmet (which appears to be half of a Viking one, with a big hole for the top of the bolt's head).
-A robot with missing arms and protruding wires emitting electricity instead... A robotic bee shooting a stinger... A warrior in a stereotypical Chinese attire... "Ninja Rayman"... a walking totem with some very big horns... and a Magic Minion with a flaming head from Fiery Fort.
-A mountainous floating island with what could be a Torii gate at the top. Flying Mountains could have had an Asian theming.
-Even more ghosts and zombies (with one coming out of the ground). Zombies would have deteriorated when damaged, taking out parts of their body in a kinda gory (but cartoonish) fashion. "Also A MAN"... a little man... who knows why it's here...
-A sort of Piranha above Pascal, which appears to come out of a big structure.
-Concept art and dialogue for the shop (with unlockable Tarayzan) + more Robo-Rayman.
-"Pure Fire": an enemy sort of identical to Lighting Bolts but with a small fire body and a demonic trident. There's a Fire King, with a floating crown, flaming hands and "Fire Spit" entities inside his torso (or as separate enemies), probably intended to be Fiery Fort's original boss. Also a totem shooting fireballs all around.
-Elementals: Electric, Ice, Fire and Ground Elementals. The "Misty" golem robot seen before appears to be the Fire Elemental.
-Extra unrelated drawings with Rayman/Scoop Kick vibes, featuring a limbless sausage guy... OK, what's the deal with the sausages?

-Concept art of the Corrupted Protoon... Yes, this game had a corrupted Protoon in its story before Redemption Mr Dark made it cool.
-To conclude: A face. Truly the best was saved for last.
Hope you enjoyed all the history lessons on one of the most classic Rayman fangames! Man, can't believe the producers scrapped nearly 50% of the game! Who knows, maybe Ryemanni will unearth more childhood memories of his grand masterpiece in the future!

Dang how did this happen.
Also wow I've been out of touch a bit with this topic, I hadn't realized the soundtrack had been released. There are a few songs I like, particularly from the Tropical Isles and Techno Towers, and also some from Flying Mountains and Freezy Freezers. One of these days I'll play the game again (I only played once a couple years back) and then give my thoughts on it.
It's actually fully intentional! This is Mr Dark's crawling animation, and I love everything about it!

The craziest thing about it is that someone created some awesome art based on what they saw in that video, so I've indirectly led to some fan art for RDMRT!

I sure do love this soundtrack so I was very pleased
when Ryemanni finally released a high-quality version! It was terribly compressed in the actual game due to his lack of experience back then, so now we can enjoy it in its full glory!
