I'll give it a shot, although I don't know if I have enough details for all of them.Greengoop wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:18 am QUESTION 15: describe all 4 versions of rayman raving rabbids with as much detail as possible
There is the cancelled "Rayman 4" prototype, which was leaked recently. It was planned as a sequel to Rayman 3 in the same 3D platforming style, with a Rabbids theme, and some new gameplay elements (animal riding, I think?).
Then there is the mainline console / PC version which is the most widely known variant. It is essentially a collection of minigames with a very wide selection of game mechanics, mostly in 3D, but not just. The Rabbids capture Rayman and force him to perform in the minigames for their entertainment. For winning every day Rayman gets a plunger and eventually collects 15 plungers to escape his prison.
There is the Nintendo DS version, where the plot is like the mainline console version, but the gameplay is traditional 2D platforming. This is the version I know the least of, and I never played it. I think Rayman has to collect "trophies" to win?
Finally, there is the Game Boy Advance version. I'd say it is the most different of them all. It is a traditional 2D platformer centered around lum collecting and cage breaking, very similar to Rayman 3 for the GBA. Familiar characters like Ly and Murfy make an apperance, and there is an element of costumes (like Combat Fatigues in Rayman 3 mainline version) which affect Rayman's abilities. Rayman was captured by the Rabbids and starts by escaping from his prison, then has to go through several different worlds, battling a Rabbid boss at the end of each.
Trivia: despite ending up as a very different product, the Windows version of RRR is still called 'Rayman4' in the registry.

Good guess with the rayman4 one, but I had something else in mind about that one 3/4 + feel free to expand on your answer

Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
You may as long as you also describe the other 3 in detail
Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
I may have mixed the cancelled R4 prototype, and cancelled RRR prototype (which was also called Rayman 4 at one point, as far as I know, hence the point of confusion).Greengoop wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 10:04 am Good guess with the rayman4 one, but I had something else in mind about that one 3/4 + feel free to expand on your answer
To be clear - I meant the cancelled adventure game that eventually materialized as the party version of RRR. I think the one that was leaked last year is the earlier Rayman 4 prototype which did not have a Rabbids theme, but at this point I may be too confused myself.
Other than that, I can only think of the Wii U version of RRR which was released later, but I think it wasn't very different from the mainline game, so I didn't mention it.

Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
Still wrong I’m sorry to say
just a few quick clues:
1: it is not on console
2: it is a finished game
Also may I ask if I’m allowed to give half marks?

Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
I'm not familiar with half marks being accepted practice in TTQ (if it ever was, than it would have to have been a long time ago, and discontinued since).
The options in a nutshell - wait for the answer you expected, or give the point to the nearest answer, or skip the question.

Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
Okay, so we have the original version, where we play minigames involving the rabbids so we can get plungers to escape their prison. Then we have the GBA version, which is a 2D game where we have to fight the rabbids (plot is similar, but we don't play those minigames). The Nintendo DS version is the most unknown for me. I know it's also a 2D game, but it isn't a 2D game like the GBA version... If I remember correctly, this version has lots of animations (like the Rayman model) and sound effects from Rayman 2. Finally, I know about a RRR version for mobile phones, but I don't know too many details about this one. I only know it isn't from Ubisoft and that's all I can say.

Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
Here's my try at this lol:
J2ME, was released in 2007 (or 2006?), and is just a sonic clone.
Nintendo DS, was released in 2007 and is 2.5d platformer, it was based off the canned proto. You can collect lums to shoot back at Rabbids, and after a level there is an autorunner minigame thing. You can also used the costumes for puzzles.
The main Wii version (which also got a release on PC and other consoles), is a minigame collection release in 2006 where the Rabbids hold you hostage, and capture the baby Globoxes. You have to do minigames to make the Rabbids happier with you, and get plungers to escape your cel. (You forgot to save Globox's kids btw)
The GBA version was released in (2006 or 2007, leaning towards 2007), is a 2D platformer where the Rabbids invade, and you have to defeat them. This one seems to be based on Pheonix's R4, featuring similar worlds, and in the files has scrapped costumes for it. You use the costumes for puzzles, like the DS version, and Murfy and Ly are also there, reusing their R3 sprites, (also the pirahnas, and annoying as heck EAJ fishes, are here and reuse R1GBA sprites.) You have to get cages to unlock the boss for each world.;

Sorry for being knowledgable on random rayman things, makes sense that joe won for being earlier. I remembered the lift minigame because of the LMW article I read up on it awhile back, (I'm a big lost media fan btw)

QUESTION 18: which cut minigame could’ve been found in rayman advance?
Re: TTQ: Season 136 - Greengoop
Nothing comes to mind besides the Ray Breakout, which featured in the DOS and Jaguar versions (and some later ports), but not in Advance. Is this what you mean?
