Haven't seen the show itself but I have seen clips and holy fuck there's shit I'd never expect to see Rayman with and I fucking love it.

Tho this has me curious, how will the Wiki deal with this considering...the target audience of the games Vs that if this show xD.

I might try and kick off a serious convo on this in the RayWiki actually cause I suspect it's something we'd be wanting to cover but we may need to give fair warnings.

I wasn't interested in the show at first but wanted to see what they would do with Rayman. So without caring about spoilers I looked through the show a bit, and then a bit more, and then I basically spoiled everything for myself. Now I'm off to actually start watching the rest of the show, because this... actually looks great! Rayman's design, his story, references to the games even... I love what I've seen. Like, even though the character is so different (and much like the other Ubisoft characters, he should never be seen as the same Rayman from the games), it feels like they treated him with so much respect. In fact, from what I've seen I feel this here much moreso than in the recent Sparks of Hope DLC for Mario+Rabbids.

It's a weird parody of course that won't be for everyone, but that's fine. I'm glad something like this can exist officially. It's a refreshing, original and creative take on the character and I'm here for it.

RAMONE ISE AEWSOEM

And yeah, I’ve seen clips and find rayman to have quite a heavy role in the show… hopefully this and the DLC will teach Ubisoft they need to show rayman some love!

Haha, when I heard that in the series I laughed because I thought about that game too :mwahaha:
I think it's time for me to play it now

I am very sorry for Jade an Pey'j, I loved them but they were the first main characters that died :(
It just felt very weird when Pey'j revealed his feelings for Jade, that was unexpected.
I know he's not his biological uncle but.. :?

I also liked how Rayman is an important character in this series and it isn't just a cameo :D

I am glad to see many good reviews for this series, so there's a higher chance we'll have a second season in future, because I need to see more!!

I've seen some clips without context and the series looks really good! You don't have to be an intellectual to guess this animated series is better than the first one he appeared in

So, while that's not the kind of series I usually watch, I did watch Laserhawk because, well, Rayman. And like most, I was pleasantly surprised, not only by the overall quality of the series, but also by the way the treated the various Ubisoft IPs. That is, in very unexpected and unconventional ways, but which always felt more like a homage than a satire of the various franchises in question, and the result is creative and refreshing. Though originally wary of the premise, I especially liked what they did with Rayman, and I look forward to seeing what will become of him in the next season, should the show get renewed.

In fact, I think they did a better job here with the Rayman IP than we ever got in ten years of UbiArt games. Like I said many times, the gameplay was great, but the botched scenarios, the subpar lore, the inconsistency, the slapstick humor and other kindergarten jokes such as pig latin... none of that felt like respect.

So yeah, well done Captain Laserhawk team for producing this, and Ubisoft for giving them so much leeway. I look forward to what's next.

Well, I watched the 6 episodes yesterday and I gotta say it was fine! As some of you said, it was a surprise, but not only because of seeing Rayman there, but also because of the good job they did there with the animation and the plot. It's been a long time since I didn't watch any animation series and I'm curious about the second season. If some of you still haven't watched it, I highly recommend it! Episodes are about 20 minutes long and it's really entertaining.

In my opinion, it was a great job what they did with the different Ubisoft IPs. At the very first, I thought Rayman would be another random character there, but I'm surprisingly happy with the result! Even if it isn't in his usual role, they did a fantastic homage to the series. Can we expect to see Rayman teaming up with Captain Laserhawk in the second season? I'm curious about this :P

I don't know how many time could we see Rayman in the screen, but I agree that those minutes were way more interesting than 10 years of UbiArt in terms of backstory

Has anyone checked the Eden Online website?

I like that it uses the old Ubisoft logo.

Ubisoft has been posting and retweeting some Rayman content related to the anime on Twitter, including this drawing from Ramon (don't open it if you haven't watched the series) and this one.

Also, it's kinda curious to see the Rayman content with more interactions than the other posts :bad:

I found this review by IGN which appears to summarize pretty well what most people have been saying about the show:
Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix is vastly different from just about anything else on streaming. Predictably, it's bloody, brutal, and action-packed, but (perhaps less predictably) it's also sweet, genuine, and earnest to an almost incongruous degree. It all works, though. Adi Shankar brings Ubisoft properties to life with the passion and zeal needed to do right by these characters.

The amphibious assassin Bullfrog (Balak) is the show's best character by a healthy margin, and fans of the Assassin's Creed games will notice many connections. Rayman (David Menkin) gets what may be the juiciest role: beloved celebrity-turned-disenchanted vigilante who realizes the system he helped build and sustain really couldn't care less about him.
So Ubisoft is the system? 😬

Well, don't they pay with Ubi credits or something like that? :P
