I don't know if "annoyed" is the proper word, but it feels weird and uncomfortable when someone who doesn't know you that much compliments you a lot for your work. From previous experiences, that means that person wants something from you

You could’ve asked more nicely. Anyway, you know, when you pay by card in some places, the device prints two copies of a receipt. They tear off one copy and keep it for their records. The receipts say which is which.
