The idea of pineapple has always given varied opinions. I haven't tried hawaiian myself actually, but since I recently started liking pineapple maybe I would like this too. I've even heard Sweden has this curried banana pizza that makes me real curious to try, since I like bananas and curry.Said wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 2:05 pmI think that hawaiin is overhated and i also hate mushrooms cus they make me vomit,i rlly like when cheese is added to the border side of the pizza (the crust i think?) Re: Pizza
The only time I've had any pizza with fruit on it was special dessert pizzas that GodFather's make. Those are really good, it's been a while since I last had them. I think one was like a cherry dessert pizza.
Apart from traditional pizzas, I do love breakfast pizzas with sausage, egg, and cheese mixtures. One place around here makes some really good ones.

Re: Pizza
I had pizza the other day and my gf had one with pineapple. I had tasted it before but I had a slice of theirs and vice versa, I still think it tastes nice. My pizza just had a lot of meat on it, including bacon.

Re: Pizza
Mmmm bacon on pizza sounds good! i like bacon with chicken, spinach, mushrooms, and white sauce.
I think lately I have been trending away from stuffed crust pizzas from takeout and going more towards pan pizza. Not that I don't love more cheese but then the crust tends to be much thinner.

Re: Pizza
I have seen that there are many who don't eat the crust also, at least back in Ireland. I always ate it, even if it was really thick, and I never understood not wanting to eat crust in general, but each to their own.

Re: Pizza
I love quattro formaggi
I emember eating a lot of this while I was on a cruise years ago! One of the best things ever out of that entire cruise, and the pizza place was open late at night too so I could just simply go there and grab some slices of pizza and eat in my room (which I did every night until the cruise was over). Along with the bottled milk/chocolate milk that I continuously kept grabbing from the dispenser at night.

Re: Pizza
I've never been on a cruise to try any of their pizza, but I think my parents have. I don't think pizza was their go to there. There some chocolate dessert they had was something mom really liked. That's about what I remember there.
I know it may not be everyone's first choice, but one of my go-to frozen pizzas now is Jack's Pizza, I can actually put them in the oven and go by the time on the box and they come out great, and not burnt to a crisp. Tony's always had a time that was too long.

Ironically I got so used to oven pizzas having black on parts of the crust or cheese that I used to think it was just normal.Hoodcom wrote: Fri Dec 15, 2023 8:39 pm I've never been on a cruise to try any of their pizza, but I think my parents have. Re: Pizza
To be honest, I haven't eaten frozen pizza in the longest time now. I think because I watch my sister cook frozen Totino's combination pizzas often and it's usually not something my family likes eating aside from me and her I kind of got over it gradually.
Stuffed crust is dope btw which I think is what you are referring to. But i find the rest of the pizza crust to be limp and floppy whenever I have it. I know I've said this before but a pan pizza with thick crust and with the border stuffed with cheese and with garlic butter on top? YUMS!
Cools, I'll try it one of these days and let you know how it goes. I'm sure it will be good (i mean there's ham on it too what could go wrong)Said wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:23 pmi higly recommend you trying it!The Jonster wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 6:55 pmThe idea of pineapple has always given varied opinions. Re: Pizza
I knew if I clicked on a pizza thread the most recent conversation was going to be about pineapple, literally called it
It's gooood
Since crust was also a topic, personally I like thin crust. Delicious sauce and toppings on top of that crunchy goodness...

As I am Italian I should stay away from this thread or I'll destroy it
P.S. Pineapple doesn't belong to pizza btw.
For every slice of pineapple placed on a pizza an Italian pizza chef dies, so please stop it, you're exterminating our people

Pineapple on pizza was an American idea, so…

But doesn't pizza with pineapple originate from Hawaii?
I often see people naming it Hawaiian pizza, unless they use this name just because adding pineapple on it gives it some "Hawaiian style"
As Steo said no, mayo doesn't kill anyoneThe Jonster wrote: Fri Feb 02, 2024 5:54 am I see, so if pineapple kills one person, how many people would mayo kill?![]()
Adding mayo on pizza is not a serious crime like using pineapples, adding fruit to a pizza in general is seen as something controversial over here (okay, tomatoes and peppers technically are fruits but they are seen as culinary vegetables as they don't taste sweet as most known fruits, so they are an exception
The same goes with sugary ingredients, for example we would never add jam to a pizza
The only sweet ingredient we use on pizza is Nutella, I've seen some people that also add bananas to it but that's legal as long it is only used as a dessert!

Well, Hawaii is a state in (the United States of) America, so…
It's funny, just yesterday we were discussing at work how associated potatoes are with Ireland even though they've only been here a few hundred years. Then another guy pointed out that it's even harder to imagine Italian cuisine without tomatoes, which have a very similar story!
